Album Description
Todd Grant knows about life in the middle lane, with little hope of passing. These songs were written by Todd, "...the stormy weekend of Valentine's Day, 1994... Armed with various chemicals, two bottles of fine liquor, a few guitars & no ideas." The songs are an accurate portrayal of the above conditions, coming out melodic and pretty, but yet somehow overbearingly depressing. This album was recorded at Airwave Studio in Birmingham, AL. Marking the first -ismist release to be recorded way out of the region. Reminiscent of Lou Reed and Julian Cope.

    This album was a personal gift to me from the artist himself way back when I was a college student in a little town called Tempe. One day, it appeared in the mail with a note telling me to check it out and let him know what I thought. We had known each other since high school, and this wasn't the first sample of music or writing he'd shared with me. In many ways, he had grown as an artist from such "classic" songs he had written with Such Sweet Thunder, "Going Away to Alaska."

    10 years later, I stumbled across it again on this site. Truly one of most talented lyricists of today, Todd will grab your heart and squeeze it, gently at times, reminding you that you are still alive.
