BIOGRAPHY

CINEMA FOR THE EARS Self-taugh by will, I've practiced musical composition for 20 years. I define my own musical work by the term of "Cinema for the Ears" : a music of organised sound which evokes and suggest film pictures, and who is playing a game with the auditory acuity of listeners. Totally realised in studio, the "Cinema for the Ears" I compose is specifically written for the loudspeaker. Music without performer, it appears in different forms :

- the record - musics for living spectacles - soundscapes or ambiant musics for exhibitions

ON THE BORDER OF SOUND Beyond this work of musical composition, I extend my investigation field in others activity ways in connection with the sound : - Conception and realization of sound sculptures : Petites Musiques de Bruits exhibition - Conception of sound systems for distribute sound - Stage sound designer for theater : sound effects - I actually work in a project call "Les Aventuriers du Son" ("The Sound Adventurers"), a multi-média encyclopedia who will tell the manifold stories of the "sound makers" across the time, from early beginnings to the end of the 20th century.

MUSIQUE AND THEATRE Chartres, Orléans, Nantes and Hennebont are french towns where I practice, since 1985, artistical collaborations with theatrical bands SUBTHEÂTRE : 6 spectacles LEZARD THEATRE : 3 spectacles GARIN TROUSSEBOEUF : 1 spectacle BOUFFOU THEATRE : 7 spectacles THEATRE ZOU : 1 spectacle

Album Description
"Petites Musiques de Bruits" puns on the French translation of Mozart's warhorse "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik", though Wolfgang isn't one of the composers whose music gets ripped apart by Alain de Filippis' sampler. We get Berlioz though (the "Dies Irae" from the "Symphonie Fantastique" turns into a whoopee cushion) and Stravinsky (significantly the "Symphony in Three Movements", whose motivic writing anticipates the cut'n'paste of sampling forty years later), and many others, in an anarchic kitchen-sink debunking of both the classical orchestral repertoire and vintage musique concrète, Pierre Henry's pompous "Futuristie" remixed by a circus clown in a home studio.

Heres a petite but grand assemblage of mixed-media sounds, voices, music and charming hijinks. Think "People Like Us" but without so much actual music. Its more like a river filled with TVs and radios, bobbing up and down, volumes down low, all on different stations. A crowd of people have gathered on both banks to comment. The sample will tell you a lot more than any words we could write!

A series II release.*
