Truly refreshing, uplifting, with its hauntingly beautiful lyrics...This particular cd-single review refers to the Dutch import cd-single, which contains the following versions:

1. Vocal Radio Edit 3:38
2. Donald and Giles Radio Edit 3:43
3. Mystery Vocal Mix Part I 7:57
4. Donald Giles Vocal Mix 8:12
5. Club Mix 6:44
6. Flutlicht Mix 6:02

"The Mystery Vocal Mix Part II" is only available on the US radikal records release. All in all, the mixes are truly wonderful with its pulsating electrifying sythns, and its melodic driving trance feel...!

4 out of 5 stars Nice Euro-Trance CD.......2003-04-21

I like this nice euro-trance tune.
A good domestic release except that it should have had couple of more mixes just like the European release. The European release had mixes by Flutlicht and DJ Tatana among others. I wish these mixes were on the U.S. release as well :(.
But anyways, this is still not a disappointing CD. We get some good mixes by Donald & Giles and Ron Van de Bueken himself.
For some strange/ stupid(?) reason, the ppl @ Radikal has listed
this as a production by 4 Strings (Carlos Resoort) and that's incorrect .
The Mystery is a project of producer Ron Van de Bueken who also produces under the alias of Shane (not Shane 54), Floyd and others.

All I Ever Wanted #2~ Human League is a throwback track to their early days and sounds allot like tracks like being boiled, don't you want me and songs around 1981. The vocals are better then at the time, but the lyrics and synth sounds all have an early 80's vibe to it. I love the sound of the beats and the baseline is typical Human League. The cover is awesome and the photo is pristine. I also like the vocal treatments used. This is a single not to missed.

    "All I Ever Wanted" stands as one of Mase's finest singles. The number is cemented by basic piano chords and Cheri Dennis' seductive and captivating vocal tone. She backs Mase's mellow, simpleton flow in the verses and sinks listener's with her sexy croon and harmonies in the chorus. The single is a mid-tempo groove with name drops from Don King and Mike Tyson to Notorious B.I.G. and Blinky Blink. It's pleasing to the ear. Though the number tends to be a little monotonous and too predictable, the production is razor sharp and the sample is well chosen. "All I Ever Wanted" is perfectly content to be pleasant.

          Monty Holmes has the sound and style of the good classic county music that is rare in country music today! When you listen to Monty and the Pythons you can't sit still! Makes you want to boot scoot! He brings good country music back. Country music is not country when it is popular on not only the country charts, but the pop charts as well! So, grab yourself a cool one, find yourself a partner and swing around the dance floor to music of today that is still die hard country!

          I have followed Monty Holmes' music since he was an opening performer for an opening performer. Of all of his work this is truly my favorite CD! I never get tired of listening to it and singing along as I'm driving down the highway. His upbeat tempo combined with his deep sultry Texas singing voice blows me away. This is a definite must-have CD for any country music fan!

          I wasn't that impressed with Holmes first release! I think that with the proper songs, Monty would be able to sustain himself in the music business. One word of advise from somebody that knows you, "Look for your first #1 Close to home dude"!

          With some of the wittiest lyrics in years and some of the catchiest, well-produced tunes, Monty Holmes straddles pure and mainstream country masterfully. There's not a turkey among the tracks. This should establish Holmes as a talent to be reckoned with. Let's hope that this debut CD isn't a one-shot deal, and that he'll follow it up with equally rewarding offerings (as so few established artists seem to do!). Buy this one!
