Punk Rock without the Pop.......1999-12-04
This CD is one of the best Punk Compilations out there, showcasing a variety of Punk Legends and many up and coming punk bands. With a line-up including the U.S. Bombs, The Business, Pressure Point, JFA, The Authority and The Ducky Boys you can't go wrong with this CD!
Mind Boggling Amazing Music!.......1999-06-18
I got the Scene Killer compilation to review for my zine, Spunkola, and I must say it is my favorite punk compilation. It features a lot of street punk and only a small bit of hardcore. The name Scene Killer comes from theh idea that there are so many great bands that tour through the underground and it only takes one greedy club owner to kill the shows. Hence the name "scene killer." Most of the bands on this compilation are underground, but you also get some of the more widely known bands such as the Ducky Boys, The US Bombs and others. I think this is a really good showcasing of today's underground scene. I think there are more volumes coming out and I recommend owning all of them.
Scene Killer Rocks.......1999-05-03
In a day of thousands of punk rock labels, Outsider records emerges as one of a handful of good ones, as is proof with the compilation "Scene Killer". This comp has 26 rockin' tracks. All the bands on here sound different but the songs seemingly run together quite smoothly. If you're looking for corporate pop that the media labels punk, don't look here. What you'll find is some of the greatest street punk bands around today, some established, and some up and coming. I personally think the best song on here is "The Way It Ends" by the U.S. Bombs, which originally appeared on a 10" picture disc, another fine Outsider release. There is never a dull moment on this CD, it is consistent thru out, which is almost impossible to find on any compilation.
You can't go wrong with this CD!!!.......1999-05-02
This album is great from start to end. If you like punk rock, you will love Scene Killer. Definite stand outs are bands like The Business, The Ducky Boys and U.S. Bombs. Outsider did a great job putting this compilation together. Only the finest of songs from hard-working bands on one CD. Buy it!
