Editorial Reviews So was this just a bunch of guys who got together to start a “band”? Or is there more to the story and the history of eN? You betcha! Hitting the road in 1988 Merritt toured with various bands. Opening for acts such as Toby Keith, Ronnie Milsap, Restless Heart, The Diamonds, Ronna Reeves, Toto, and Jefferson Starship. His keyboard talent reflects his respect for the diversity of his chosen occupation. Merritt’s friendship with the band “Restless Heart” was his greatest influence as he recognized excellent lyrical content contributed in part by Tim DeBois “The bands mentor and producer at the time” The years of working through vocalist replacements and covering the high power harmonies combined with the vocal instruction Merritt received as a youth lent to his ability to present this marketable and dynamic range in “Words of the Frenchman”. So what does all this tell us? That when listen to “Words of the Frenchman”, we not only hear some awesome music, meaningful lyrics and in your face vocal sound we also hear Merritt’s heart and soul!
About the Artist
Millsap Millsap moved from Nashville to Utah in 1997 to join forces with Tony Horstmanshoff, Steve Yeates, Dawayne King and Jason Fivas to start the recording and writing process of a second album. During the course of three years Merritt established a Record Label (Merit Records), a recording studio (eN Results), a Publishing company (visionarycorp) as well started writing and recording the album "Words of the Frenchman." During this time period it became very apparent that the current line up of musician’s roots was in a "Heavier" genre. However, Merritt's desires were to continue in a more mainstream and new age field. This was the birth of the current band "eN". eN has now completed the "Words of the Frenchman" album and is currently working on their second album.

Merit Records was established to bridge the gap between it’s founders self published, self produced recordings and the entertainment industry. Like any other indie label the goals and ambitions of Merit Records are to provide an outlet for the artists who might not otherwise have the opportunity, or means, to achieve the next level of success. The appeal of this particular label is the fact it is backed with it’s own recording facility, and publishing company affiliated with ASCAP. This combination in conjunction with re-production facilities like disc makers, covers most of the generally overlooked details in recording and releasing an album, and the distribution and marketing that follow. Merit Records encourages artists to be self-sufficient and acquire the resources and knowledge base needed, to the extent of finding the means of doing their own recordings. “An industry of informed participants raises the standards for us all” However we understand most artists focus on the music they write and would rather not delve into the business of their chosen occupation. If this is the case “we are here” Merit Records will consider all genres of music.
