We'll Dodge It On The Way Back
Editorial Reviews
OC Weekly, July 14, 2000
Rumored to be "the best band in OC". They are quite charming. Some nice notes and dramatic pauses.

Their musical style is fairly emotional and also complex-they mix Weezer's soft charms with Get up Kids' enthusiasm.

fairview is just good rock!.......2004-04-27
this cd is really one of my all time favorites! They are extremely talented and just give you that warm fuzzy feeling inside when you listen to it. Fairview is just good rock, and there's nothing else to it. if you're thinking about buying it, i strongly suggest you do!

Great band, great cd.......2004-03-01
This is definitely an album for people who like The Get Up Kids, The Anniversary, and the newer Saves the Day sound. If you like this great band live, their cd will not disappoint. The cd contains studio recordings, acoustic songs, and demos that will keep the listener rocking for hours and begging for more. The catchy choruses will stick in your head for weeks. The harmonies and the addition of the keyboard make each song unique and amazing.

buy this.......2002-12-15
Fairview- listen to them. I first heard of them thru my best friend, who is the cousin of grace (the keyboardist), who got me the CD and a poster signed by the band. at first i dismissed it, but then I took one listen... wow. though there's no standout track as has been mentioned, all the tracks are solid, there aren't any tracks I skip over which is definitely high praise. make sure you check them out if you like what my one friend calls "whiny indie rock"- like the bands mentioned in the editorial review (the get up kids, weezer, etc.) also, though it's not mentioned, there are an additional 8 tracks on the CD- 5 live acoustics, and 3 demos. and if you put the cd in your comp, you can watch a nice little music video, and see pics of the band. ..
A great first album from a great new band.......2002-10-11
The first time I heard Fairview was at the Vans Warped Tour '02 while waiting for another band to take the stage next to theirs, and to this day I'm glad I didn't leave. I actually can't remember who took the stage next; all I know is that for thirty minutes, Fairview rocked my fragile little world with their well-crafted indie-rock tunes. Before they left, they announced to the fifteen or twenty people who were lucky enough to be in attendance that they had their self published album on sale at their booth. I stopped by about five minutes later, bought the album from Grace (the very lovely pianist), and about played it non-stop on my drive home. I have to say, it's a great album, each track indeed a melodic experience that isn't to be missed for all you indie-rock fans, vaguely reminiscent of 'The Anniversary' but more downbeat and low-key, and without the repetitive bubblegum nonsense. The only problem that I, and those who I've played it for see is that there are no standout tracks. In fact, upon first listening, it seems a bit bland, and takes a second listen before you can begin to fully appreciate the sound (although everyone admits they dig the chorus on Chinese New Year first time around). It's a great cd for the price, and one can certainly expect this band to get better and better with future recordings, so support your local area bands and grab this one ASAP.
