MCMXCIX

Editorial Reviews
About the Artist
RIPTOPOLIS would like to extend our gracious immortal hand in welcome. In our third year together in San Francisco, we have put it all together: great songs, spontaneous improvisation and exciting shows all over the Bay Area. Riptopolis, MCMXCIC features fourteen songs that will enthrall you with its politics, existential philosophy and uplifting spirit. Riptopolis is our idea of a perfect city-state, and Socrates would be proud to see that this democracy is truly run by the people.

Featuring the Iron-Lunged Scottish Warrior, Taran Ramage, on drums, lead/rhythm guitar, vocals…Zombie Ashcroft, III on rhythm guitar and vocals…and Tim Leather on bass.

4 out of 5 stars This Album.......2004-01-26

This is a good band, but I would have prefer to buy their other album "Killing Helenski", but this is still a good album. If you like Tristania then you will like this band guaranteed.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent........2002-02-10

I was first referred to this band by a friend who works in a record store, and to quote him, "This is some sick sh!t. It's brutal at some points, but then it totally comes around with this whole other melodic side, and it's really amazing."

I'm going to have to agree with him on that, this is one of the best albums in my entire collection. From death metal to black metal, with sprinkles of techno here and there, this is one very unique band, despite what all these uneducated heathens say.

And to the fellow who claims that TPH sounds like Dimmu Borgir: Grow up, sir.

5 out of 5 stars youve heard it before?????????.......2001-07-18

what do you want to say dimmu bifaggit is the same no no you must be fuxed in the head============ real unholiness here---- fux you fuxers

4 out of 5 stars Good, but I've heard it before.......2000-09-15

I first heard "Divine Burning of Angels" on my friends TV when the metal channel played the song. At first I thought it was a song from Dimmu Borgir, and to my suprise wasn't. So I bought the cd and I love it. It is heavy, great vocals, and I love the electronics. The only reason why I give it a four is because they sound exactly like Dimmu Borgir, except there is a female singer and there are a few loops that Dimmu Borgir does not use. And this band is not the first to use female vocals with death metal. Tristania has been doing this for about 5 years or longer. I'm not saying they were the first, but they've been doing it longer. And I believe Nightwish uses male vocals along with the female vocals. Overall, a cd worth a listen. Nothing new for those familiar with bands of this nature. If you're just getting into this type of metal, you're in for a treat.

3 out of 5 stars Good, but a lot of the same.......2000-07-25

I think this is a good album to buy. The mix of metal and a beautiful female voice is very good. My only critisism is that some tracks sound the same. It's hard to distinguish some songs, but maybe that's my fault. Still a good album to add to your metal collection.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Music.......2005-02-08

This is one of the best CD's I've heard in a long time. Crushing and Driving guitar combined with some great soprano singing make this one of project hate's best. I definately recommend this buy. Also, if you like this music check out Quo Vadis' CD "Forever" It's along the same lines as this cd, but with the best double pedal bass drum action I've ever heard.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars "Once again we bring armageddon".......2007-03-12

Having heard "I see nothing but flesh" and "At the entrance to hell's unholy fire" I purchased this album. Those two tracks are the best one's, but the sound is consistant with no bad track's, although some do drag on a bit. Basically this album has death, almost brutal male vocals, with clean female vocals, and some electronic beats and keyboard. It has very anti-christian lyrics which are nothing original, and the music and male vocals are less melodic than I usually like, but the female vocal's are exceptional, Jonna Enckell has an excellent voice and really delivers it emotionally. One for fans of heavier sound's rather than more gothic sounding band's, it is more like Dark tranquillity than Theatre of tragedy.

5 out of 5 stars Quite possibly the perfect death metal album..........2007-01-15

I'd heard The Project Hate's previous efforts and honestly wasn't too impressed. When I heard this album, I couldn't believe it was the same band. This album has all the elements of what I consider to be a perfect death metal album...cookie monster growls mixed with clean female vocals, pummeling guitar with tastefully used electronics and longer songs, average length of 5 - 6 mins. This disc really stands out in an otherwise stagnant genre.

If anyone suspects the artistic integrity of this band, simply look at the song titles and answer the question for yourself. "Oceans of Seemingly Endless Bleeding"? I got this CD for free after my friend gave it away to me. He bought it for 99 cents at the used rack at a local record chain.

It really sucks, even if you are a satanist.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Death Metal Cd Ever..........2002-02-17

You have to buy this CD. To say its fantastic is an understatment. It has a combination of growling vocals and awesome female vocals. Its pretty heavy, but the songs all have a certain groove to them. Buy this CD even if you don't like death metal.
