The slow, sweet burn of the Minor Planets' "Rotate + Balance" is a relaxing, sometimes spacey, country-tinged outing.

About the Artist
Dana and Eric have been playing together for years and years. Tbey recently decided to record and release a record. Dana and Eric recorded their record at a recording studio. A recording studio is a place where lots of big, electronic machines take sounds that people make and turn them into CDs, records, and tapes. Lots and lots of CDs, records, and tapes. Play it early, play it often.......2004-03-05

I must say that the first time through this album, I thought I "got it". The second time through listening to it, I thought I was wrong the first time. Third time I was confused.

Then, I finally figured this album out: it's a literal _tour de force_. The artists really go for a ride across the musical spectrum.and do so well. From the homage to pop-culture that is "Columbo" to the make-Major-Tom-Proud "O, Judy Astronaut", there's not a missed note here.

Bottom line: don't try to pidgeon-hole the work. Sit down, put your best headphones on and listen.

Minor Planets Rule My Universe.......2001-01-13

With the twined blossoms of the pure and plantive vocals of siren Dana Thompson and the cooly intelligent, poetic murmur of songwriting partner Eric Christopher, this music flowers like a pale spring lily, nodding in the fog. A wonderful debut that hints masterfully at the great promise to come. One of the premiere new alt-country bands!
