Abstract Confessions

Editorial Reviews
Epitonic
"There’s nothing pretty about this record, but it is beautiful."

Devil in the Woods
"An amazing record really- Tagging Satellites operate on the fringe, stumbling in and out of the accessible with seedy elegance"

Album Description
Tagging Satellites' second album, "Abstract Confessions" is a study in opposites that incorporates the best bits of schematic, Throwing Muses-ish guitar lines, indie rocks shining qualities, and post-Sonic Youth atonalisms. The album delivers melodic abstractions for your unapologetic lounging. Picking up where the band's 1999 debut release, "Shooting Down the Airwaves", left off, "Abstract Confessions" serves up layers of guitars, small fractious bursts, and customizes each plush number with perverse but euphonious jug handles in chord sequences and scansion. The ten pieces that make up "Abstract Confessions" are varietal through flowing, dense sounds that will leave you flushed and satisfied yet never too full for more.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars abstract confessions.......2001-01-11

The production on this record is quite impressive. Other than that it's good alt rock with an experimental twist that reminds me of times of P.j. Harvey.

4 out of 5 stars An Angel From The Pacific Northwest Is Calling You.......2000-12-16

Abstract Confessions is a gilded collection of songs filled with burning infatuation and remorseful regret. A beautifully bitter vibration shakes through this entire disc, listen closely and you will feel it and love it. Tagging Satellites are a duo from Seattle (Zera Marvel and Graig Markel) who are shaping the Northwest music scene, intentionally or no, with sweetly stabbing lyrics and inspired aural talents. Their first release was Shooting Down the Airwaves, a wealth of noise pop and bone shattering rhythm. Tagging Satellites are a must in your collection and well deserving of your attention.
