    5 out of 5 stars I like this record!.......2002-06-28

Now this is more the way I like it! (Much better than that guy who is the big star of Austin.) I could listen to this CD from the instant the sun comes up until my head hits the pillow once again. These Household Names should be big stars in America, no? "Great American Public" makes my heart smile and there is no end to the melody and rocking out on all the songs. My friend Miou Miou knows how to find all the good music.

    5 out of 5 stars Household Names.......2002-06-01

I found this CD at the Minus Zero Record shop in London. I find the songs pleasing to my ears very much so. I cannot stop listening and moving around to the beat. I wish the Household Names would do a tour of Europe or the UK as I have many friends there. I wish the French bands would sound so nice!

    4 out of 5 stars A Pop Music Treasure.......2002-04-05

A stellar group of songs that combine 60s pop sensibilities with modern day production values. The results are refreshing, creative and catchy as all get out! A solid, exciting, gifted young band showcasing a lot of promise for the future. Definately one to watch.

5 out of 5 stars like warm socks.......2001-01-12

Finally, there's a new band that's fitting of our collective listening time. This debut is really quite masterful. Not only is the production flawless, but Jason Garcia is a youthful mastermind of the new pop-gendre. Catchy phrasing, lyrics, and instrumentation place this album among the ranks of the best Croweded House, XTC and (dare I say?) Fab 4 releases that we all love. Kudos to Household Names. Look for this band to take command in the future of pop-music.

4 out of 5 stars Strong Clever Songwriting.......2000-10-19

If you love music with the "British" sound ala XTC then this is the CD for you. But this isn't to say that Household Names is a "tribute" band. To me it seems obvious that one-time one man band (who has since fleshed out the other instruments) grew up listening to songwriters Lennon/McCartney & Andy Partridge and is carrying on the musical torch. The songs are engaging and wear well with multiple listening. Hopefully they will get major label support so they can continue to grow and evolve their sound.
