You know how sometimes you hear those songs on the radio, and they're really catchy... the ones you hum in the car on the way to work? "Ooh baby... yeah baby...." And then, as you're driving, you start to think, "damn that's a cool song, but it's kinda stupid too."

And then there's those other songs, usually by pretentious british rock stars that are so sublime that that you have to be British to understand them? (Insert Sting lyric here).

Well, "Curve of Her Soul" is neither of those. This is an album that, back to front, is filled with intelligent, accessible tunes. While labeling, or trying to analogize music is hopelessly inaccurate, it is also useful to the extent that it allows other people to get a general idea of the music before they hear it.... so I'd say PJ is somewhere between the Dave Matthews Band (that's the intelligent songwriting), and Hootie (that's the accessible side). The songwriting, both lyrically and musically, is top notch.

I particularly enjoy "Pilgrim," "Flood," and "Buffalo Song," but there's really not a week song on the disc.

I definitely suggest that other people check out these songs.... I think there are clips on the band's web site.
