The first thing that caught my attention was Eve Lyn's strange and beautiful, powerful voice...
From the Artist
Nolutio became a 'band' in 1994, when two guys from Dallas, TX decided to take an extended vacation in Austin and see if they could find others musicians to play with. Tired of the Dallas scene Mr. Walker and G. Hamilton W. met up with old friends Shamrock (percussion) and Eve Lyn (poet, singer, songwriter). Although they each had very different styles and influences they shared the same vision of a band. Working with a string of different drummers Nevolutio hit Austin's famous 6th St. and... read more
Album Description
Fronted by Eve Lyn on vocals, with a voice that ranges from melodic to shattering, who also delivers lyric poetry across some of the more rhythmic tracks. Moved by the thundering and original bass of G. Hamilton W. and the powerful and creative drumming of Miguel, who also runs loop tracks. Guided by the guitar of Mr. Walker, who a reviewer described as appearing to find therapy in his guitar. Nevolutio builds an onslaught for their audience to get impaled with. Eve Lyn's vocals are sultry and Nevolutio's lyrics (many also written by G. Hamilton W.) are inspired, perfectly complimenting their unique style. Their use of digital sounds in loops synthesized organically with their instruments adds an eerie gloominess to some songs and uplifts others. Nevolutio is renowned for their incredible dynamics, pushing and pulling sounds in and out of riffs, falling into dub style grooves. Often crashing and thundering mix with screeching and scraping as the members delve into experimental instrument abuse at their live hows, Mr. Walker looking like he is trying to bend his guitar and stomp his pedals through the floor, while G. Hamilton punches the strings of his bass. Together the members of Nevolutio make a sound that is hard to describe, harder to categorize, and even harder to absorb completely the first time.
