Album Description
A slight departure from the pop-punk and alternative styles we have come to expect from Josh Freese, this latest recording shows off a heavy jazz influence with a slight tread into free-form and improvisational territories. Pushing the envelope, Freese and his cohorts hold no bounds in their approach to creating and exploring the boundaries of a vast musical landscape.

Stripsearch is a solo effort by A Perfect Circle's drummer Josh Freese.He's joined by Mike Elizondo on bass,Michael Ward on guitar and his brother Jason Freese on sax.May be tough to describe Stripsearch's music as they combine noise,rock and experimental jazz.The formula appears to work here.Tunes that convinced me this CD is worth checking out were the ten-minute epic opener "The Baby-Faced Assassin",the shadowy "Orange Fragile",the somewhat jazzy "The Mongoose" and "The Real Deal".

I have been waiting for the release of this CD for some time now, and I have to say, it has been worth the wait. Having followed the careers of all the musicians involved, I would not exactly call this a Josh Freese solo effort, but whatever. This a mind-expanding mix of rock, jazz, noise, and beauty that should satisfy anyone interested in improvisational music. Fave tracks: "The Baby-Faced Assassin" and, of course, "The Return Of The Baby-Faced Assassin." Rock on, Stripsearch!
