Album Description
Giraldo is one of the hottest comics in the country, socially provocative yet broadly funny. He's well-known for his stint as a regular panelist on Comedy Central's "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn". He regularly contributes a "rant" segment to "Last Call With Carson Daly". Both of his half our stand-up specials, "Comedy Central Presents: Greg Giraldo" are currently airing on Comedy Central. He's also performed on Letterman and Conan, and now hosts "Stand-Up Nation" Friday nights on Comedy Central. This debut contains over an hour of his best material.
Customer Reviews:
Buy This CD, NOW!.......2007-06-27
Absolutely hilarious! How did it take Greg Giraldo this long to get noticed? He's so funny. If you saw him on Dave Attell's "Insomniac" tour DVD, you'll love this. Actually you'll love this either way if you're not an idiot. Stop stalling and buy it! ha
You'll Laugh. Maybe Think. But Definitely Laugh.......2007-04-20
I'm not a particular fan of stand-up comedy per se (although as a teen I had my share of Carlin, Pryor, and Foxx records), but I like to laugh as much as anyone else. I'd seen occasional snippets of Giraldo on TV and was intrigued enough to buy this CD, and I'm not one to buy comedy CD's (the last one I bought several years ago was by Bill Hicks; an outstanding comic, by the way). I'm glad I succumbed to the temptation this time too. Giraldo is hysterically funny, and offers mordant social commentary without ever being "preachy" or pedantic (Lenny Bruce's failing). As a reviewer below mentions, my only regret was that the CD wasn't longer. Outside of an occasional slow spot (and what comic doesn't have those?), Giraldo is laugh-out-loud funny throughout. In fairness, I should mention that if you're easily offended, Giraldo may not be for you. He's not quite as scathing or acerbic as the late Hicks often was in his observations, but he's just as irreverent (his comments regarding the recent pedophile scandals of the Catholic Church are pointedly and rightfully caustic), and there's plenty on this CD to ruffle the feathers of those with tender sensibilities. Then again, considering how regressively banal, how obstinately puerile, our culture has become in recent years, maybe ruffling a few feathers isn't such a bad thing.
I couldn't stop laughing.......2007-01-09
If you are a Greg Giraldo fan you'll love this cd (maybe you'll think thats too short). If you are not, you'll think is a little edgy. This is the best comedy CD I've purchase to this day (sorry Dane)
Brilliant!.......2006-12-18
This CD is so good you'll wet your pants laughing. Giraldo is a little rough on marital relationships, so I might not lend this to a friend who's going through some marriage difficulties (which I did), but for those of us who can handle a little (oh-so-true) relationship humor, Greg Giraldo is amazing. You will want to purchase one for yourself, AND all of your sick friends who can appreciate great stand-up. If you saw Comedy Central's Last Laugh 2006 you'll have an idea of what you're getting in to. Now go for it!

Album Description
Kona, Hawaii: think lush natural landscapes, divine inspiration and kids with nothing to do except find the next rage and invent slicker ways to pick up girls. Add metal and rock/dancehall influences to Hawaiian spirit, humor and ridiculously good looks - and you got Pepper. "Give'n It" was originally recorded in late 1997 in the only studio that existed in Kona at the time. Pepper caught the attention of fans from all corners, particularly Volcom Entertainment. After packing up all their belongings and heading to California, Pepper scored dates with established artists like Born Jamericans, Shaggy, Eek-A-Mouse, Burning Spear, Pato Banton & Secret Hate, were featured on XBox and Transworld Surf & Snow games, and played an entire run on the Warped Tour 2001, paying their dues by building the stage and pumping their signature Kona-dub-rock into the hearts of fans from state to state. It is edgy, lush, rocking, melodic, innovative, heart-grabbing and a good ride. It is Pepper.
Customer Reviews:
Fun music, but not very original.......2006-12-15
I realize I'm giving this three stars and everyone else has given it five. You'll have to decide for yourself, but I think my score is more justified. Pepper is a fun band with a classic "feel-good" ska/reggae/punk sound ... like Sublime as others have noted. But if you are, or where, a Sublime fan you will ultimately find Pepper disappointing. Not because they are bad, in fact they are pretty fun, but because they never get beyond "fun." Sublime had a certain edge (mostly misogynistic), and unpredictability that Pepper lacks. Maybe with time they'll move past repetitive imitation and find something that makes them unique and interesting. I imagine there ought to be something unique about living and working in Kona?
Don't take all this as a negative review. As long as you don't expect too much (and who really expects a CD to change their life?), Pepper is a good listen. I recommend you try it if you enjoy Sublime and need something new to listen to.
Hidden Treasure.......2006-03-29
I had never heard of Pepper until I was in Hawaii this last week and saw them at the Waikiki Shell with 311. They were an awesome band to see live, and if your looking for a sound that isn't blared all over the radio these guys are it. They do definetly remind me of Sublime, but with thier own Hawaiian twist. I recommend thier music to anyone. They should be on tour this summer with 311 so go and check them out.
Don't know what you're missing.......2005-03-30
Pepper is one of the sickest bands out there. I finally got to see them in concert on Saturday the 26th. I have all their CD's but it was awesome to see them in concert. You WILL NOT be disappointed with Pepper.
Darren.......2004-11-07
Ok ive heard some of they're stuff and ive read the editors description of Kona Hawaii, and seeing that ive been there hand have hung out with the locals of the town, its all very true. I am about to purchase this album because i really love the reggea scene that i saw while I was in Kona.
Brad Nowell may be dead, but his musical influence lives on........2003-10-31
For everyone who was bummed when Sublime ended, your prayers have been answered. This band has a great sound to them and is similar to Sublime and Slightly stoopid. Keep an open mind and you'll find there is alot of music out there to enjoy.

Saint Etienne have unbelievable musical cred. Indie-poppers love them for covering the Field Mice's twee classic "Kiss and Make Up" and rediscovering the reclusive '80s girl group the Dolly Mixture. Electroniacs dig them for being early movers in the disco revival. Everybody else loves them for being our generation's ABBA. But it wasn't enough--they wanted to cash in on the Northwest grunge scene by signing to Sub Pop! Fear not. Good Humor is a far cry from grunge. It is the cleanest, lightest, loveliest confection to grace any American label in ages, let alone the heavy, crunchy one. Longtime Saint Etienne fans will notice the clean focus of the electronic arrangements on Good Humor as well as the fancy horn section and the amazing, woozy bass playing of their Swedish producer, Tore Johansson. Haul this record out to bring back your favorite summer day or when you're wishing life were like a Mentos commercial. --Lois Maffeo
Customer Reviews:
DELICIOUS!.......2006-10-11
Their best album in my opinion. It's very retro sounding- 60's french pop(loungy)and early 70's uptempo funky pop, just reinvented for the late 90's loungy-European pop noveau 60's revival. Whoa- was that a mouthful. Does it makes sense? The green cover pop out at me when I first bought it when it was released in 1998. I had heard of the group but wasn't famili ar of anything that had up to that point, so I decided to give 'em a try. This became an instant classic for me- I couldn't stop listening to it. Actually, I had purchased the double cd edition with 2nd cd entitled Fairfax Inn I believe. My favorite tracks on the main cd are "SPLIT SCREEN," "WOODCABIN," "LOSE THAT GIRL," "GOODNIGHT JACK," "THE BAD PHOTOGRAPHER," which was released as a single which I have. and "ERICA AMERICA." It's smooth pop all the way with some tight grooves with synth and farfisa for added color which gives the music that retro feel. Sarah Cracknell's voice is so smooth it's like milk chocolate. She is akin to Lesley Gore, Kay Starr, Brenda Lee and Ann Margaret- 50's and 60's pop chanteuses. Some of the tracks are simular sounding to the Brittish group MONO which had that huge international hit on the soundtrack of Shakespeare in Love. Try this first and if you like it check out "TIGERBAY"-it's pure early 90's dance and very different from this. With "GOOD HUMOR," Saint Etienne has matured in sound and style.
Great Humor.......2005-10-06
Very nice CD, quite different from their other ones but quickly became my favorite.
Excellent CD.......2005-09-16
This is the best non-Beatles CD I own. By accident I became a fan. After an episode of Daria they played a portion of Sylvie. Thanks to the net I was able to find out who the band was who performed it. Every song is perfect.
Hip.......2004-09-01
This album is very hip. I enjoyed its sound. It reminds me very much of the Cardigans album "Life" (which I loved).
blissful.......2004-08-25
having been a fan saint etienne for many years, i've amassed quite a collection of their stuff. in fact, the only frustrating thing about the saints, other than they're lack of touring in the states, is the vast amount of music and remixes that they've released. when this cd was first released in the u.s., it came with a bonus disc. unfortunately, there weren't that many as it was a limited run. so if you are intending to buy this, as it is one of their better albums, you MUST search for the bonus disc edition, even if it means buying it second hand, as many agree that the songs on the bonus disc are better. you'll pay less, because it's used, and even better, you get more saint etienne for your buck. with that said, this album has replaced So Tough as my favorite project by the saints and even though it is their most poppy cd to date, the sounds are entirely blissful.

Album Description
"Good Morning, Gus" is a children's CD suitable for newborns to 6 year-olds. Not only is it exciting music for kids, parents will be charmed by the songs as well. Separated into two themes, play time and sleepy time, the album is both energetic and gentle.
Expressing many of the emotions of a first time parent, "Good Morning, Gus" contains elements of folk, country, rock and pop music - produced with a simple, honest acoustic sound. All this makes "Good Morning, Gus" a warm, touching and real collection of tunes.
Customer Reviews:
Great music for young children.......2005-02-15
What a neat album for little ones. Our kids love listening to Brady's songs that are catchy and funny.
Perfect!.......2000-09-30
I received "Good Morning, Gus!" from a friend recently. We have a 6 & 7 year old and thought they might possibly be too old to enjoy the CD. I played it in the morning to get them motivated to get ready for school and it worked! They both drifted in the room when "You Gotta Eat Your Fruits" came on and were quite energized! They have since listened to the entire CD several times and love it. I hesitate to mention our favorite songs because they are all equally "perfect"!!
Great CD for both baby and parent!.......2000-07-22
We was given this CD by a friend when we were expecting our first child. We loved the Song "Last Night in Utero". Now that our son is born, we play the CD on a daily basis. The songs are unique and fun for both baby and parent. We will continue to enjoy "Good Morning Gus" for years to come. I highly recommend this CD for all new parents. It makes a wonderful gift, too!
Worth looking for........2000-07-16
There's a surprising amount of excellent, relatively unknown kids music out there. I'd put this album at the top of that list. The songs are a lot of fun. They seem to be devided into "play time" and "sleepy time". The whole album is fun, memorable, and full of great songs that get stuck in your head (and you don't mind!). Rymer, Laurie Berkner and Dan Zanes are my kids' favorites. And Gus is a lucky kid to get an album this good named after him.
Wonderfully Honest.......2000-06-02
Not only will the kids love this music, but if you're a parent (like me) with little musical talent ... you can't help but appreciate the contribution Rymer makes as a parent with talent.

Folky Country Classic .......2004-12-26
If you want to hear the BEST of Kinky - get his 1st LP - Sold American - (which has just been re-released by Ace with a couple of extra tracks). After that I would completely recommend this.
The humour, irony, melody and political incorrectness of Kinky run thru it in abundance (and despite the right-ish image he trys to give off - if you listen to his words and think about it - I actually think he is a bit of lefty!)
The reviewer who gave this 1 star and said "it stinks" is quite frankly an idiot. If you are that person and you are reading this - go and buy a Celine Dion CD, it sounds like she would suit you.
Enjoyed it for years.......2000-07-20
I'm amazed at the previous review. I received this album as a gift several years ago along with one of Kinky's books, and I have to say I've continued to play it and enjoy it. Kinky is fun, creative, and completely irreverent and politically incorrect. Not only that, he's a good musician -- some of his renditions of Woody Guthrie's work are great! If you want to laugh -- and think -- even at the same time -- look no further.
Not worth buying!!.......1999-04-18
This CD sucks. I ordered it for my husband's birthday after we had bought and enjoyed "Pearls in the Snow." But this CD was not worth any of the money it cost. I would send it back for a refund if I could. It Stinks!!
