About the Artist
A magically talented multi-instrumentalist, Anugama's compositions reveal a wealth of inspiration. Born to a musical German family in 1952, Anugama began playing the recorder flute at age 8 and the guitar at 12. at 16, he discovered drums and inevitably developed a love of congas and percussion. As a teenager employee at a Hamburg music store, his musical horizons expanded even further. There too he was first exposed to music from around the world through the famous musicians who would visit the shop. This multi-culturalism was further developed as he raveled the world in his twenties. Anugama studied Eastern philosophies, combining beauty, liveliness an quiet into muisc, developing his own musical language of a high aesthetic standard.
