This guy needs to find his own musical personality. If you've heard Paul Westerberg's or Ryan Adams' solo albums, then you've heard this all before done much better.
The abundance of rave reviews here only goes to show that some people are WAY too easily impressed.

jeff klein's music is beautiful. each song is a story written in the language of poetry. and not only are the lyrics beautiful, but this guy rocks. some songs i keep playing over and over, like "patch." these are songs to be savored on a lazy afternoon, to sing along to in the car, and to keep hummng in your head.
treat yourself to this cd. and his upcoming new one, too. and if you get a chance, see him perform, cause he's even better live!

i would just like to state another opinion of the same demeanor as the reviews above--this album is beautiful. today, i was walking in the local used cd store (used kids), and came upon this album all shiny in it's plastic but with a sticker tag of only three dollars. not knowing who jeff klein was, i picked it up...what a find. to whomever sold back this cd, thank you for the gift, it is truly appreciated.

This is one of the best albums I have heard in such a long time. I can't get enough of it, or Jeff Klein!! "No Pulse", and "Fast As You Can" are amazing songs!! They take my bitterness and wring it out, so I am left mellow, and actually content. I also really love both "Patch" and "Fallen Down". Excellent songs!! The only song that makes me cringe is "Ballad of big red". I find it a tad disturbing to hear him sing the lines, "I put my hands around her throat, and I squeeze 'til she can't breath" -- Still, the tune is cool! Conclusion: Click ADD TO SHOPPING CART Now! You won't regret it!!

I cant believe how young this guy is! I saw him play in Chicago and decided i'd buy the record. It soars with a raw melancholy energy remenicent of Nick Drake. From ballads to rockers, they all move the heart and soul.
