About the Artist
The Gecko Club was formed in 1994 by songwriter/guitarist Andrew D. Huber in Minneapolis, MN. An early demo attracted the attention of at least one producer, and the band recorded a 3-song demo, "Been Nowhere," that received rave reviews from (now defunct) Cake magazine, drawing comparisons to the Chills and Robyn Hitchcock. "Tokens, Trash, or Tarot Cards" is 15 tracks of guitar-pop bliss, with an emphasis on lyrics, melody, and songwriting. The music blends a diverse array of influences, ranging from the 80s post-punk of the Replacements to the Celtic rock sound of the Waterboys to the country rock stylings of the Gear Daddies, and everything in between.
