3 out of 5 stars I like Peaches, (especially with cream).......2007-05-12

I like Peaches and her music. I'm not even a big fan of the electro-stuff even, I just like her cheeky factor. I dunno why people make such a huge fuss over her lyric content and all that. I'd like to hope she's a wildly orgasmic person who really loves being her and in her own body, that shouldn't be a big deal. Isn't that what we'd like for everybody.

It's just nice to hear someone being up-front about that rather than all thinking we're the only people where such things may be a big part of our person when, every day, on the bus, in the workplace, on the beach we're probably surrounded by people who think and feel the same.

So be a bit 'out there' all those like Peaches and help us all be honest with ourselves about ourselves amongst ourselves. It's also nice to hear a woman able to aknowledge wanting to get laid, wanting to come, just digging wanting, no shame, no disgrace, no loss of dignity, no being judged against stuffed values-NO DISHONESTY!!!!

Cheers

Lloyd

4 out of 5 stars why it's so bad it's good.......2007-02-09

normally i do not like this kind of music...techno, dance, hiphop, rap, that kind of thing. sometimes i hear something that i want to hear again, but most of the time i can pass. (for stuff i do listen to: anything from neutral milk hotel to spirit to aphex twin...anywhere in between, and many places out because i try different genres often) so why can't i stop playing some of these songs?

the music isn't that great, the vocals aren't that great, and the lyrics are probably different things to different people, like adolescent, offensive, idiotic, or...as in my case...hilarious. i don't really care if this persona she's built is real. (she looks pretty damn nasty, and she's not quite as attractive as she seems like she should be. see, she sings about some pretty nasty things, so to see a pimpled and pasty girl who looks like and sounds like she's been in more than a few beds...and done really hilariously sick and disgusting, terribly sinful things in them...is a little disconcerting. in her other album, impeach my bush, long, curly black hairs are squeezed out of the crotch of her--whatever that is, a bikini?--and are perfectly lit from behind. anyway, you can kind of get a feel for what kind of girl this is.) no, if it's all fiction it's not at all important. just knowing that someone has thought about or invented this personality, such an antithesis to classic american culture, helps me to sleep better at night.

4 out of 5 stars Much better live...disc is good, though........2007-01-20

I had a chance to see Peaches on tour w/ NIN last summer and it was great.I thought I would pick up this disc since "F**k the Pain Away" was the only I could really remember from the show.
The songs are very catchy w/ a feel of the 80's synth pop.
Listening carefully...the recording isn't very good.Could've be done homemade. The bonus disc w/ a few remixes sounds much better.I only give it 4 stars because of the recording quality, but that shouldn't stop me from buying her next 2 dsics.

5 out of 5 stars What else is in the teaches of peaches? Huuh What.......2006-10-22

After hearing F the pain away, I officially declare it my new theme song for life. this album is hard, very adult and basically says I don't give a ****. Thats why I love it.

5 out of 5 stars Minimalistic techno and songs with some hard edges.......2006-08-12

I like the wit, wisdom, frank sexuality and humour of this album. Many people won't "get" Peaches. I can understand that. I can understand the fact that many will find this album very difficult and annoying.

Yet this is a very good album, made with very basic and cheap materials. A second hand drum machine and synthesizer seem to have been used by Peaches. However, this album isn't about that - it is a manifesto of low tech and songs which need to be expressed and heard. As such, Peaches succeeds very well.

Please don't listen to those who base their criticisms of this album on such things as technology and adult content. This is a hand-made album - it has an agreeable "chamber music" quality to it - by a woman with a number of things to express. In that regard, Peaches succeeds admirably.

I enjoy the music of Peaches. I am sure many will, too.

along with the jackass the movie soundtrack and the haggard soundtrack this is one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard, ever. every song on this soundtrack is cool plus there are clips from the movie on it. go and buy this today, after all, you wouldn't want to feel like a jackass for not buying it now would you?

5 out of 5 stars One of the funniest sountracks.......2006-11-20

I love this soundtrack! If you have seen the movie, then hearing the songs, you will remember what part of the movie it is from. There are little audio clips from the movie too. Only thing I'm dissapointed about is the theme song and the Wolfmother song from the trailers, aren't on here.

Johnny Knoxville isn't exactly known for cultivating high-brow humor with his MTV prankfests, so it's a nice surprise to find that the soundtrack to his equally outrageous Jackass movie doesn't rely on simplistic stupidity. Instead, the compilation plucks less-mainstream rock and punk speedballs that encourage headbanging and slam dancing with actual finesse. The Jackass theme song, twanged by '80s underground rockers Minutemen, and howling chestnuts from late '70s Scottish punks the Rezillos and Danzig's schlock-horror Misfits are intense but never banal. Modern cuts--a slash-and-burn stoner rock dirge from CKY; taut, sassy girl rock by Sahara Hotnights; and Detroit Cobras' sleazy melding of garage rock and twist-style 1950s rock--are just as worthy. The series' sense of humor even kicks in with Sir Mix-a-Lot's rap ode to the derriere and Mr. Party Hard himself, Andrew W.K., whose guttural grunts and growls contrast cheekily with his cheery piano plunks. A few shaky stumblers aside, namely the Roger Alan Wade acoustic number, Jackass is much more intelligent than one would expect--and an excellent and eclectic soundtrack to boot. --Annie Zaleski

4 out of 5 stars Good Soundtrack.......2004-04-12

This is a good soundtrack. Most of the songs rock and my personal favorite is CKY - Flesh Into Gear. Some other artists on this soundtrack include Slayer, Sahara Hotnights, The Rezillos, Smutpeddlers, Ramones and more. This soundtrack features most of the music featured in the Jackass movie. And another plus about this soundtrack is that it comes with a bonus DVD with music videos (including an all new Partyboy video), trailers, tv spots and swag. If you liked the music in the movie, then get it.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best soundtracks out there........2003-09-28

This is a must have. Whether you've seen the movie or show or not. I coulden't imagine this soundtrack being any better. It has most of the music from the movie and a bonus dvd. Great album for parties and stuff. It also has some of the best bands on this compilation such as CKY, Ramones, Sahara Hotnights, Smut Peddlers, Misfits, Slayer and many more. Featuring hits like "Flesh Into Gear", "Baby Got Back", "If your gonna be dumb" and so much more. The bonus dvd includes, music videos: "Flesh Into Gear" by CKY, "She Is Beautiful" by Andrew W.K. and and Party Boy Music video. It also includes Jackass The Movie previews and trailers and Jackass swag. This is a great album with classic hits. Buy it today.

5 out of 5 stars good.......2003-03-30

This was a nice little cd with a nice little collection of songs. I liked it. Alot of the songs are pretty short but that dosn't matter because they were sung by awesome bands. The bonus dvd with this isn't that good, it's just the trailers for the movie and an andrew w.k. video. It also has a party boy video. If you like metal bands like slayer or punk bands like ramones or misfits or anything by cky or if you just really want to own the delightful "baby got back" by sir-mix-alot, than this cd is for you as it was for me and many others.

5 out of 5 stars what the hell is that guy talking about???.......2003-03-27

i dont know what the [other] guy is talking about but the soundtrack is the best one i have owned in a long time (5 stars). every track does NOT sound the same. the soundtrack is filled with lil punk goodies that will have you looping this CD for days (especially the rezillos) and if you ever get bored of it, you probally have listened to it more than i have!!! buy it, you want it, you NEED it! hehe trust me it rocks and you will love it.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty good soundtrack overall....................2002-12-30

but i have one reason why i didn't give it 5 stars, all the songs sound the same. i got the edited version because i didn't know how many bad words were going to be in it. Turns out that the words are only in one song "let's get f-ed up". other than that the album is pretty clean. 3 1/2 stars. P.S. THE EDITED VERSION DOES NOT HAVE THE DVD! :'(

5 out of 5 stars kick-a*s honkey tonk from ventura.......2005-04-17

That's right, honkey tonk out of ventura. Whoda thunk it? This is one of my top three favorite bands of all time (Think of supersuckers mixed with some Rev. horton heat). All of their songs are well written and well played. There are covers of Madonnas "music" and the Backstreet Boys "I want it that way" done up in country punk that sound ten times better than the originals. There is even a cover of "plastic jesus" (from the movie 'Cool Hand Luke'). After hearing this CD, I wanted to go and get myself fired from my job, buy a beat up pick-up truck, and mope around some dusty, dead-end town, all the while feeling sorry for myself! Seriously, if you are a fan of country-punk, this is a must have. If you have a chance to see these guys live, do it, you won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 stars a good sountrack to an awesome movie!.......2002-10-27

I bought this CD a couple of hours before I saw the movie and I loved the music, so I knew the movie was going to be good. the movie was good. the music is pretty good. there is only one song with bleeps and its the song with the obvious title "let's get ...up" by the smut peddlers, its a good song and is the only one with language. i recommend this cd to all fans of the show and to everyone who loved the movie.

5 out of 5 stars It's not frustrating at all.......2004-09-14

There are few bands that i demand more of in terms of touring and/recording, this is one of them. I know this is a part time band but i do wish they would release something more often even if it's just an ep. The frustrators second album is just a million times better than their first effort. They finally got the great mix of pop, punk, new wave and staright up rock n roll. Awesome album , short songs, and a Cars cover that makes the original seem bland. Mike Dirnt and the rest of the frustrators make deceptively simple music that is just super catchy.

5 out of 5 stars why cant they make more cd's........2003-10-02

great cd, AAA is incredible, mike dirnt on bass rules.

5 out of 5 stars Where are the midgets?.......2002-03-18

Good solid stuff from the Frustrators! Who hasn't played "Hide and Seek" at work? The tunes may not be as catchy as Mike's "other" band, but who cares? They're not Green Day, they're the Frustrators. A great follow up to "Bored in the USA" even if there's no songs about midgets. Hey, I'm 6ft, I'm not offended. Plenty of good tunes on this one from AAA and Pirate Song to The Crasher and Stupid to the crankin' cover of My Best Friend's Girl (Cars), just to name a few.

Great job guys! BTW, Jason, you owe me ten bucks for this stunning review!

For a small, indie bluegrass CD, it sure sounds big time. It's got everything you love about bluegrass from the lyrics to the banjo, string bass, fiddle and finger-plucked guitar playing. The fidelity of the recording is artisan quality. This is a contemporary Bluegrass album, so it is quite accessible to most listeners. The songs are all great sing-alongs. The lyrics are line by line top-notch. These guys are naturals! I was looking for great contemporary bluegrass, and in Jackass Flats' Purgatory Mountain, I found it.
