Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Two tracks I really like.......2007-07-21

The Mission Impossible theme is performed well.
The Fireball theme is actually much improved on this version. I prefer the orchestra and the vocals over the original.

2 out of 5 stars Quantity Over Quality.......2007-01-15

As a musician myself, I know too well that one of the most important ingredients in ANY performance (live or recorded) is passion. The recordings here generally lack the same passion and sheer drama of the originals. Much of the instrumentation has been reduced to a cheezy, thin, plastic synthesized replica. The performances are simply a watered-down lackluster version of the classic originals. If it were not for the sheer volume of tracks compiled here, I would have rated the comp only "one star".

3 out of 5 stars Mediocre.......2006-05-17

The sound quality for this collection isn't much better than the samples offered by Amazon.

4 out of 5 stars One Hundred Greatest TV Themes.......2005-08-06

I have watched almost all the shows that are on these 4 cd's. Many were made before I started watching TV. Most I've seen once or twice before.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty close to original recordings.......2005-07-24

Definitely not as good as the originals. You'll probably notice the slight differences since it's stuff you saw and listened to every week or everyday in reruns growing up, but it's still an amazing collection.

4 out of 5 stars G 'n f'n DS.......2000-12-09

The three guys and three gals in this group have somehow formed a family of exciting sounds. They rip on the sugarcoated industry in "Professional Pop" and "Death Of Rock and Roll." This is explosive stuff with a good feel. It hits the heights, slows down to pick up those it lost, and takes off again. At one point, the inventive band makes neat train noises in unison. There's clever wordplay like "AEIOU nothing" on the hardpressed "Animal." "The Toughest Thing" is thrilling, with powerful emotion like Stiff Little Fingers. Killian "Killer" MacGeraghty sings with aggressive fire like fellow countrymen New Model Army. With more bruising guitar work, "Wasting Precious Time" is theatric in a hippie musical sort of way. Intense chanting and great drive make this political piece work. "What I Hate About Punks" would have made a recent "punk rock opera" much better. Many would agree, "They took a good thing and made a bad thing." Megan Reitan soars exactly like Polly Styrene. Full steam on "Thief for Love," a rocker with lots of meat. It seems to be a take on "Mrs. Robinson," if I have my imagery correct. "Sundae" for dessert is cryptic and sweet and features a 50-guitar orchestra!

The music is mature and exciting with original drumming. Throughout the pointed messages and outbursts of emotion, mankind remains positive and hopeful. This crew knows their stuff and yours. It's catchy without being crap. The varied flavors make for a fantastic record from a phenomenal band.

5 out of 5 stars Colorado fan.......2000-04-11

I think it sounds awesome. It is just what fans have been waiting for. I am sharing the tunes with all my friends and family. I hope it goes big and gets to the music stores for all of America to enjoy. I hope they tour denver, colorado really soon.

5 out of 5 stars Best of the Best.......2000-02-03

Though it has yet to be released, I have heard this album and I don't think it gets any better than this. The best live act on the west coast finally gives the people what they want - a taste of their phenomenal stage show to take home and enjoy forever. You know you love them in person, now you can relish the magic of the Gun & Doll Show any time you want.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding Collection of TV Themes.......2006-03-30

You get some really impressive British and American TV themes here. Who ever thought you would get Ron Grainer's theme for MAN IN A SUITCASE or Edwin Astley's THE BARON on a CD? Astonishingly they are here with such classic TV themes as John Barry's THE PERSUADERS, Dimitri Tiomkin's RAWHIDE, Edwin Astley's THE SAINT and Laurie Johnson's THE AVENGERS. You also get some very good obscurities as Edwin Astley's DEPARTMENT S and Brian Dee's RETURN OF THE SAINT. There are many more.
