Once you hear the song "Monkey Trap", you'll be singing it non-stop. It's a hit that's yet to be discovered. Let go of that banana (yes you Steven Tyler with the Chiquita sticker on your hand)...and order this now.

Mimi Cross has edge and brains and a damn good grasp of the way it feels to be frustrated by all the trappings of relationships. "Emotional Phobic" is EXACTLY what I wanted to say to someone once...really, really loud. "Ghost Inside" is an invitation to slip deeper inside ourselves for a closer, darker look at the forces that move us. "Easily" makes me cry in my bowl of oatmeal and reminds me that I'm eating it ALONE. This is a fantastic Monkey Trap full of tunes. You can't help but keep reaching in there again and again.

From in-your-face to almost detached, Cross's voice captures your attention. The band arrangements are tight modern-rock to alternative, very college and modern rock radio friendly. The songwriting is fascinating and remarkable. Mimi just keeps getting better.
