Gorgeous, moving, original, sexy, fresh..........2002-08-27

In a world full of plastic...pop, Sexfresh is truly refreshing. This CD is just lush, gorgeous, the music and lyrics are beautiful, moving and the entire CD captures your interest and your heart and pulls you in. The music is brilliant, beautiful and really defies categorization, but to describe it, it's sort of bluesy/rocky/country with a definite, welcome edge. You can feel every heartfelt emotion coming through your speakers on their guitar strings and vocal cords. The vocals, both Ben's and Emily's, move your soul. Ben often sounds a lot like Leonard Cohen on this disk, and Emily sounds kind of like an edgier Bonnie Raitt with some Fiona Apple thrown in. This CD is more than worth the money, and for God's sake, if you ever get the chance, catch them live! Sexfresh is awesome and I hope to see them go far.

Perfect for those people out there looking for something fresh and new. The vocal stylings of Sexfresh remind me of Cowboy Junkies and Yo La Tengo - it's intelligent and meaningful lo-fi folk with experiementation across other genres to add some spice.

The first track, "Try A New Line On Me", is a wonderfully radio friendly tune, while "Two Dimes in One Shoe", "Bitterroot", and "Baby, Please Don't Go" impressively show off the band's talents.

At last! Musical salvation for my starving soul!.......2001-04-22

I don't know if words exist to describe the awesome power that is Robin Coomer's voice. She sings with such passion and intensity that even if she sung the ABC's it would become a deep and meaningful rock song. But she and the boys of Birdsaw go the extra mile and write songs that are often times haunting to me. I often think of Tori Amos when listening to their songs because they have that same beauty, simplicity and thought-provoking imagery in their lyrics. However, unlike Amos, they have a tougher edge to them and are much more rock than Amos is. They remind me of Pearl Jam. They are fantastic musicians. I love every song on this album. That is a huge rarity for me. Listen to the samples or, even better, go listen to the cd at a record store so that you can actually get the full and glorious effect.
