Editorial Reviews When asked how he feels about the project now that it is finally being released, Phillips unleashed the expected bitter diatribe. "At this point, I'm really disillusioned. The public, they've let me down, my friends, they didn't stick around, and the critics, they're so mean spirited. It's a good record, but it's bound to be overlooked and lost in the shuffle, and everyone involved will be baffled about what went wrong."
Bitchin' Wheels
About the Artist
For years, Scott Phillips wanted Bitchin' Wheels to make his dream record. In the 80's, Bitchin' Wheels had been touring non-stop so they decided to take a break and record an album. The break has gone on for 15 years. "You get a better drum sound in Europe," explains Phillips, "they really understand that dynamic, you know?" So no expense was spared. Producers and investors came and went. The project was bedeviled with human failings and technical difficulties
Performers
Tim Gauhan, guitar Pete Linzell, Sax Jeffrey Owen McGregor, Bass, keyboards, percussion, background vocals Scott Phillips, Guitar, bass, drums, vocals Ron Salvo, drums Chris Witting, bass
Album Description
If you ask Phillips what bitchin' wheels is all about, he is characteristically blunt. "It's really about lifestyle. How are you going to get through life? By cab, on foot, in a Honda, or something bitchin'? It's about like everything and being on the road, you know?" If I knew, I wouldn't have asked, but Phillips tries to clarify; "do you have any money?" No, no more money, my friend, but my everlasting gratitude to you, ingrate, spoiled child, rock visionary!
