For what purpose?, one may ask, to which Dr. Crews replies,"Some 15 years ago, midpoint in my practice of clinical psychology, I met a sailor who was holding a Ship's Log. I asked him the purpose of a Ship's Log, to which he replied, "In navigating the Sea, we chart where we have been to understand or know where we are! Then, and only then, are we able to decide where we want to go!" Since this 'chance' meeting, I have borrowed from the Maritime tradition when I am asked, "What is psychotherapy?" I reply, "I once met a sailor who held a Ship's Log...and in psychotherapy, you take a look back, not to blame another or yourself, get stuck and stay, or regret what once was, or might have been; but to understand the who, the what, the when, and the where. Then, you are better able to decide all the places you'll go!" ALL IS POSSIBLE! PS... 'Psyche' really means 'Soul'
