Odder than odd, this remix album removes much of what listeners closely associate as being what Bush is about (pop-Nirvana clones) and turns the focus onto the then-expected electronica craze. "Everything Zen" is remixed twice and given audibly different treatments. The Derek DeLarge mix, in particular, barely keeps the song in place. The emphasis on so much drums and bass from a band not known for their rhythmic abilities (Bush excel with the stop-and-start, not the keep-on-groovin') creates an entirely new group--one which ironically should appeal to folks who never cared in the first place. Not a bad experiment. --Rob O'Connor --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5 out of 5 stars Bush Deconstructed.......2006-07-20

If you like BUSH and ambient/techno sounds then you will like this cd becaue it is a combination of the two. It's very well put together and you won't be able to put this cd away.[Also] There is also a known song in this cd: 'MOUTH'; which some may recognize from the movie American Werewolf in Paris.

4 out of 5 stars If you're looking for something different..........2006-02-24

from the usual Bush you get, than check this out. Rock music is generally not remixed, so for the bad reviewers out there that seem to have expected the same 'ol Bush, go buy something else. I'm not really a Bush fan. I bought the 1st 2 albums and stopped. It got boring. Razorblade suitcase had a few good songs and so did Sixteen Stone. I find myself listening to this remix CD more than the others though. I listen to it when i want to get sexy with my bush.

3 out of 5 stars Neat techno, mostly bushless........2005-07-28

This album has some neat electronic songs on it, but most of them are just that and nothing more. It's supposed to be a Bush remix album, and some of the songs actually are great! Mostly though, these tracks take musical excerpts and reinterpret them with keyboards instead of using recorded samples. Most of them do not have many, if any of the lyrical performance either. The important thing to know about this remix cd : It is not as much a remix disc as it is a collection of Bush inspired electronic pieces. That's the problem with it. Some of the tracks do not even resemble the original songs enough for anybody to recognize. That being said, if you admire the musical motif's of Bush songs and have an open mind, it is a pretty good disc.

5 out of 5 stars I don't really get the bad reviews..........2005-05-04

I actually like the a lot of the remixes on this CD a lot better than their original versions, surprisingly enough. I think it was worth every penny. My personal favorites are Synapse and mouth, which in my opinion blow the original versions out of the water. Personally, I'm getting sick of people thinking that original versions of songs are sacred or something.

Plus, it has that lovely cross on the cover...

4 out of 5 stars Stop moaning!.......2005-03-29

Bush are a great band, and this is a remix album,
of course its different!!!

But thats what makes music interesting........and If you don't like it F*ck off!

My opinion, its not my cup of tea but I'm really not that fussed on it, its different and pretty darn "Groovy" as Eddie Izzard would say.

5 out of 5 stars Great music by great MUSICIANS.......2002-11-28

Steve Swallow is the kind of musician that does not feel the need to show off with technical displays of ability on his instrument, as is the case with many bass player-led albums, such as Vic Wooten's, Stanly Clarke's and Marcus Miller's (I love them all, but sometimes it can be way too much of a good thing). He is satisfied with writing some great melodies and supporting his bandmates with solid, tasteful playing. He is the leader, yet he only solos on two tunes. The playing by everyone here is really top-notch, I especially have become a fan of saxist Chris Potter - he is simply amazing. The drummer is also quite a presence. What I also love about Steve is his sense of humor - just look at the song titles. Overall, a blowing session full of interesting and tight ensemble work.

5 out of 5 stars One mean blowing session........1999-07-23

Things haven't stopped cookin' over at Swallow's camp. "Deconstructed" has everyone on fire, specially drummer Adam Nassbaum whose playing here reminds us all he hasn't forgotten how to swing. This album has much more to recommend it than the earlier "Real Book," both in terms of playing and the compositions themselves. Get it. What makes my copy more deeply satisfying is that it came as a gift from Swallow himself.

5 out of 5 stars SO FINE.......1999-06-02

This is some of the finest, tightest playing you will ever hear, from a group of way good players really listening while they explore some wonderful intelligent charts that really move. As a nice touch, the cd notes include the written music for each chart (in a fractured way), fun to follow, and then hear what they do with them. Group playing at it's finest, combined with some very tasty solos, all propelled in beauty and power. Also, a very fine recording.

5 out of 5 stars Cant let it go.......2007-02-15

I picked up this CD in 2000 and here we are - 2007 . It has never left my CD rotation. I absolutely recommend this CD. I had the pleasure of seeing Frank Jordan live in TX in 2000 and I was mesmerized. I even purchased a second CD for my 15yr old son who has been hooked on them also.

    5 out of 5 stars A great band!.......2005-04-29

Frank Jordan is a great band 3 really nice people. I have seen them live several times (and have a bunch of live stuff! yay for me!) and am amazed every time. I can't explain the style so you'll have to listen to the samples. This is their best album (sorry FJ) if you can find it. Of course all the other albums are good as well. Get 8 songs last though. It was a DIY thing that lacks the package poduction. It is a great CD, don't get me wrong, it's just not worth the Amazon price though.

    5 out of 5 stars AWESOME CD!!!!!.......2004-04-05

This band is one out of a million!!! They have a VERY unique sound. They are going to the top!! LOVE THEM!

5 out of 5 stars Booh-yah! Frank Jordan strikes again.......2003-03-04

THis album is amazing, every song drives you further and further into the harmonies and incredible and jazzy drum licks. They are even better live so check out "Enemies" as well. This CD will become a favorite and climb the stack of radiohead-esc records. BUY.

    5 out of 5 stars Fantastic album.......2001-06-19

The first time I saw these guys, I wasn't exactly impressed. A couple of years later I saw them completely by accident and have ever since been hooked. While they don't exactly _sound_ like the Greatful Dead, they've got a similar spirit of solid musicianship tempered by a fair sense of the experimental. Live jams just seem to go on and on. "Decoy" is a _wonderful_ album and I keep going back to it and discovering a track that I'd heretofore overlooked. Strongly recommended.
