Aglio e Olio [CD-single] [EP]

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
While touring behind Hello Nasty, the Beasties regularly busted out hardcore songs by the likes of Agnostic Front, Minor Threat, and Reagan Youth--along with their own take on Billy Joel's "Big Shot." The move came as no surprise to anyone familiar with this EP, on which the B-Boys collaborated with AWOL and returned to the hardcore roots documented on Some Old Bullshit. At eight tracks in just over 11 minutes, this hardly qualifies as extended play. There are better hardcore albums out there, and there are better Beastie Boys discs, but fans will still enjoy Aglio e Olio. --Randy Silver --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

4 out of 5 stars A fun hardcore punk release.......2004-06-18

Like the Amazon.com review says, there are much better punk rock records out there, and much better Beastie Boys records out there, but I still like this little CD. I like that the Beastie Boys haven't ignored their hardcore roots, despite becoming HUGELY famous for their hip hop skills. This is a good disc to toss in the CD player along with some Bad Brains, Adolescents, Agent Orange, and other stuff like that.

2 out of 5 stars Nice Novelty, but..........2004-04-16

...this isn't something that compels you to listen to over and over again. The Beasties were third-rate punk rockers anyway, and time didn't improve them in the punk area. Stick to the stuff they do best!

5 out of 5 stars Great crossover!.......2001-06-20

This CD is only 11 miniutes long, but it feels like more. This type of music sounds like mid 80's punk, but it's still good. The name of the CD, "Aglio E Olio" means Garlic and Oil in Italian.

5 out of 5 stars Hell Yeah!.......2000-07-07

This CD kicks ass. If you like punk, Hardcore, or your a Beastie Boys fan this CD is a must. I have evey one of their full length CD's and this is the one that I like moore than any of their others.

4 out of 5 stars Great Punk.......2000-05-31

This album is punk at its best. Any true Beastie Boys fan should have this in their collection. All the tracks are awesome. The CD is sadly lacking "Soba Violence" which appears on the import.
