About the Artist
Kiya Heartwood is a member of the songwriting duo, Wishing Chair. Heartwood began her musical career as a drummer and songwriter in Lexington Kentucky punk bands in the late 70's and early 80's. She formed the band, Stealin Horses with Kopana Terry in 1985 and released one CD, Stealin Horses, on Arista in 1988.Stealin Horses released Mesas and Mandolins in 1991 on the Waldoxy Label.
