Spend the Night With the Trashwomen

Editorial Reviews

Really great lo-fi. This 12-song CD sounds like it was recorded in a cave and mastered directly from vinyl. The Trashwomen don't play or sing particularly well, but they still attack each and every tune with all they can muster. About half the tunes are covers and at least a third are instrumentals. The whole thing blows by in a furious whirlwind of reverbed-out guitar, steady bass and some real sloppy (but steady) drumming courtesy Tina "Boom Boom" Lucchesi. The perfect soundtrack for your next Hallowe'en party. --Adem Tepedelen

4 out of 5 stars Please release Trashwomen vs. Outer Space.......2006-04-11

Spend the night is good, but vs. Outer Space is fantastic. I'm Dangerous is the best song released in what is it, 11 years now?

4 out of 5 stars Pure Trash........2006-03-03

If you took Thee Headcoatees, the Frumpies and surf music and threw them into a psychotic blender, you might get the Trashwomen. An offbeat, often playful mix of songs, "Spend the Night..." is a short, quick burst of yowling energy. The only downside to this obscure jewel is that it's under a half-hour and quite a few of the songs are instrumentals. But even with that and the challenge you'll encounter trying to find it, it is still worth your time. If the sun rises and sets for you with the punk screech of a female, this is for you. Now let's hope someone releases the rest of the Trashwomen oeuvre on CD.

4 out of 5 stars nasty garage surf trio that does it right.......1999-04-09

The trashwomen play surf with attitude they aren't the tightest outfit around (sometimes downrght sloppy) but they're damn near the coolest ever.
