Album Description
Yellow Sky is my sophomore release and first in my new stomping ground of Seattle (I previously called the East Village in NYC home). This is a dark folk rock album that I think holds a real beauty in it's starkness and honesty. It was recorded in just a few weeks time in my home studio during August/September of 2004. In the hopes of capturing the energy of these songs, I decided to record them live.

The lead vocals and guitars were recorded simultaneously and I later added some other instrumentation. The music is acoustic but you can definitely imagine a band wailing away at times. I ultimately liked the idea of this collection being in its rawest form. This is my Pink Moon. My Nebraska. My Roman Candle.

Album Description

Yellow Sky is my sophomore release and first in my new stomping ground of Seattle (I previously called the East Village in NYC home). This is a dark folk rock album that I think holds a real beauty in it's starkness and honesty. It was recorded in just a few weeks time in my home studio during August/September of 2004. In the hopes of capturing the energy of these songs, I decided to record them live.

The album cover was a photo taken from my old apartment on Capital Hill. I was taking one of my many naps on the couch during yet another rainy winter day here in Seattle. I awoke to this golden glow and rushed to get my tripod and camera. The sun was just sneaking over the Olympic Mountains as it caught a break in the clouds. All that grey just turned into gold. Yellow Sky was born.

Must Have.......2005-03-26

This album is amazing!! One of my old roommates turned me on to it and I can't get enough. If you're even marginally fond of drum and bass or jungle you have to acquire this album somehow. The album is subtle in its politics and then turns around and slaps you with a killer beat.

and prepare the speakers daddy's got a new friend the neighbors gonna' hate. Just like all the jungle sky albums this CD's got Big BASE that will rattle anyone free. I bought this album in 2000 and I still love it. This musical masterpiece is pure genius for your kicks.

Their first release was great and the second is better. Flowing from Jungle to drum'n'bass without a hitch, it's in constant rotation in my player. Liquid Sky puts out another great one! Check out track 5.

Ndala Kasheba's fame reaches back to the 1970s, when he led the famous Orchestra Safari Sound.
There's a strong Congolese beat throughout YELLOW CARD, typical of the region's music - but just as powerful is the sparkling guitar and Swahili lyrics.

Yellow Card is the greatest band on the new scene. They know how to rock and keep you listening to there cd's over and over agian. If you like any type of "punk rock" or "alterinative rock" then you'll love Yellow Card. If you ask me you should buy Ocean Ave.(newest) and even One for The Kids(older but still kick ass).

hey every one! yellow cards new alum is what i think is 1 of the best albums in stores right now. Yellow card has its own stayle that u wnt find in any other pop/punk band and they arnt just in it for the $. I think that every 1 can relate to atleast 1 song on their album "ocean avenue" go buy it and if you dont like it return it but i guarentee youl love it!

You can just dance to all the songs on this album! We heard his music on a local radio program of African music and hope he gets more exposure! :) Happy Music!

Have just heard one track from this cd. It's a Tanzanian band with a lively tempo akin to a caribbean theme. The track that was played on KEXP FM in Seattle is called Umbeya.

If you want to hear good music this cd is for you. The Drum and Bass on this CD is exceptional!! If your into Drum and Bass, Techno, House, Hardcore etc... you will love this CD. Trust me you wont dissapointed when you hear this.

I haven't heard the CD so I do not wish to give it five stars. But I must say the track, "How It Goes" is chilled to the max.

Intelligent DnB.. it's like abstract hip hop (you can almost say trip-hop) taking a culture course. Great stuff from what I've heard, I will check out more.

this cd was great, from a producer and dj's eyes this cd is one of the best i have ever heard in drum and bass with a little break beat mixed in. give it a chance you might like it. i bought this cd at borders so i had nothing to lose but the reciept. and im glad i took that chance.

I don't know what the reviewer from OH is on, but this cd is an excellent cd! With an excellent drum & bass backbone, this album has quite a bit a depth, song development and soul. Every single person I have EVER played it too asks what it is and wants it. You won't regret it...
