Let Out A Little Peace

Editorial Reviews
Joel Selvin, San Francisco Chronicle April 3, 2004
"a formidable talent - hippie child who grew up hip-hop, music...Jamaican reggae, Cuban son, Mediterranean beats, urban DJ techniques."

Royce Oz, Ear Witness December, 2003
"Imagine the eclectic vision of Manu Chao coupled with the voice of a young passionate Sting. Absolutely mesmerizing and memorable."

Album Description
To Life! Hyim, young Oakland, California artist, has produced three CDs. The third one is his own debut album, Let Out A Little Peace, which is being unanimously celebrated. Receiving recognition for his brilliance, his title track "Let Out A Little Peace" was a top ten finalist out of over 200 submissions at The Recording Academy’s (NARAS’) Vocal, Songwriting and Production Competition, while he and his band, Hyim and The Fat Foakland Orchestra, were nominated for a 2004 California Music Award. Let Out a Little Peace…..one of the best debuts from this side of the map, a brilliant, emotional mix of calypso, jazz hip-hop, Latin, and funk all bound by Hyim's soulful vocals…..a contemporary spin on jazz, Latin and Caribbean styles, giving them a fun and funky downtown edge, which Hyim himself describes as "urban world beat." Inside you will find piano ballads, love songs and world music explorations all woven together with an articulate pop song craft.
