Basically the music does not sound the same as the music from the Sopranos series, don't know if it was a different singer, certainly not worth the money

This sucks bad. It is NOT the version used on the Sopranos. There are a lot more lyrics and the performers don't sound anything like the HBO version by A3. Don't waste your money.

4 out of 5 stars A Fresh Young Emerging King....Yummm!.......2006-03-18

This is a collection of early works that clearly illustrates why King became a blues icon. The tracks were recorded between 1949 and 1953 and they sound just great. The tunes range from relatively straight unadorned blues to pieces that swing. This is not one of those recordings that should be sold for the "historical significance". The music is strong and stands on its own by today's standards. This one stays in my player. Highly recommended for those you want to hear a master emerging in fine style. Sooo Sweeeet!

    I have received this CD and this has probably gotta be one of the best SQTs I have heard. Todd Rubenstein's renditions of the big hits of "Leader of Men", "Someday", "Too Long", and "How You Remind Me" are done in perfection. With mr. Rubenstein doing everything except the 1st violin, which is also professionaly done. I personally enjoyed this CD and any NB fan would, too.

    I really like this series of stuff and especially this particular producer. I have the String Quartet Tributes to 3 Doors Down, Audioslave and I just got this CD and the Rush one. Nickelback's songs just sound great like this! How You Remind Me is first and has a lot of extra instruments and is like an orchestra on serious steroids. Good Times Gone reminds me of something out of a movie. They made it have a couple new parts that are really cool sounding and creative. Do This Anymore is KILLER! The album also has my other most favorite NB songs.

    There's an original song that's pretty good too, but I don't know why they put an original song on the NB tribute, unless it was written for NB or something. Nevertheless, if you want a great CD and a great way to listen to NB, you won't be dissapointed with this one. Five stars all the way!

    This is the most incredible CD I have ever heard!!!

    It is simply amazing!

    I heard about it at a Nickelback concert.... Chad Kroeger (NB's singer) was talking about it during their set. He said it was awesome and that he was honored that someone thought enough about NB's music to pay tribute to them in this way.

    After I got my copy and listened to it, I had to come in here and let everyone know that this is the most incredible CD I own. It is SOOOOOO AWESOME!!!

    Every single song sounds like the original and has the energy that Nickelback puts in their music, but it is performed by an orchestra, without singing.

    I love this CD, my boyfriend loves this CD all my friends love this CD and my Mom loves this CD (the only one I have that my Mom likes).... How cool is that?!?!?

    Thank you to whoever the people are that made this CD. It is now my favorite CD I own.

    This cd is extremly enjoyable if you can stand more than one type of music. The tribute songs sound very close to the original. I like it more than the original, by far.

      Brahms composed his Magelone cycle for a baritone (Julius Stockhausen, a good friend of the composer), yet the tessitura is almost tenor-like in some of the songs. Christoph Pregardien is a tenor with a baritone-like boom in his voice (as well as all the required low notes), hence he is an ideal interpreter of this warmly romantic song-cycle, as is clearly demonstrated on this disc. He and fortepianist Andreas Staier encompass all the varied emotions of this cycle. Youthful impetuosness and ecstasy, pensive reflection, tenderness, warm contentedness, despair, confusion, doubt, and quiet joy are all projected with utmost vividness, flowing tempi, and great variety of articulation (helped by the fortepiano) and dynamics. The inclusion of Vanessa Redgrave as a narrator (what warmth her voice has!) helps to make sense out of these songs, which are (in essence) lyric reflections of a "missing" narrative (unlike Schubert's "Die schöne Müllerin" and "Winterreise" where the songs themselves tell the story). This is by far the best interpretation of this song-cycle I've encountered (surpassing even Peter Schreier's recording). Anyone interested in Brahms or Lieder (or both) should acquire this CD without delay!

      "Woke Up This Morning and Found Myself Dead" is one of the most popular Hendrix bootlegs and for good reason. Recorded at New York City's Scene Club in 1968, this show exists under several titles through multiple small-time CD companies. "Woke Up This Morning and Found Myself Dead" is what this show is called as released through the Red Lighting label. The performance features a legendary line-up with Jim Morrison and Johnny Winter. Morrison with Hendrix? You read correctly. Jim doesn't sing as much as he slobbers drunken obscenities. Depending on one's sensibilities, the listener will either find this hilarious or offensive; indeed, the neutrally titled 'Morrison's Lament' could have been more accurately titled 'f*** her in the *ss!' The setlist is another *sset for this show. The band plays a Beatles song, a tune by Cream and a few of Jimi's favorite Blues standards. The treatment is loose, highly improvisational and will have high appeal to those from the jamband school of music. As far as bootlegs go, the recording quality is excellent thanks to the soundboard recording. This is a true piece of 1960's nostalgia: Hendrix jammin' with some buddies in one of his favorite New York City clubs. For those who've listened to all of Jimi's records a thousand times, "Woke Up This Morning and Found Myself Dead" shows a rare and most refreshing side of Hendrix.
