An under-appreciated Chicago rock institution, the New Duncan Imperials recently released their fourth album of new material, another gonzo collection of satirical cowpunk specially designed for consuming vast quantities of beer and dancing like an idiot. On album, you can't enjoy the Silly String fights or marvel at Skipper, Pigtail Dick, and Goodtime's sartorial splendor, but the trade-off is that you can make out the lyrics to tunes such as "Tip-A-Cow," "Potato Chicks," "Love-A-Rama," and "Makin' Out With My Dad." The new disc also includes an inspired cover of "Sex Drive" by the mighty Embarassments. --Jim Derogatis

Album Description
Like a big heavy melodic boot, The New Duncan Imperials fourth studio album stamps a pretty and permanent pattern in your head, and even if you can't remember your name afterward, you can for sure remember the songs! Check out "Potato Chicks (and Cheese Girls)", "Pesticide", "Pathetica", and "It's Popular." They all rock absolutely, and thats only the P's! You also get love songs, like "Makin Out with My Dad" as well as a handful of swell ditties like "You got the Right String Baby (But The Wrong Yo-Yo)" A crazy ride through the world of the New Duncan Imperials that rocks. Produced by Chuck Uchida.

These three guys can crank up more volume than the front row groupies at a Stones concert. This CD contains a number of clever songs delivered with all the subtlety of 1000 volts through a copper bathtub. "It's Popular" is a good example. Catchy enough to be background music for any number of TV ads; but so smartly written as to deliver a tongue-in-cheek message about the questionable quality of many bands' musical efforts. A real winner in a sea of mediocrity.
