Comedy hip-hop generally takes the low route, doing either physical humor (cf. The Fat Boys) or a litany of cheap-shots and potty-talk (cf. 2 Live Crew). Insane Clown Posse does both. But they're also side-splittingly funny for a couple listens--and pretty good with the beats and samples besides. The concept's like this: These two white guys have a vision of global unity that has something to do with dressing as clowns and spraying soda all over everything. They're, like, dead or something, so they have supernatural powers, and each album they put out represents a card in this eternal trump hand that'll call God back to earth when it's all collected together. If you can think of anything funnier on the spot, go get a record deal. --Gavin McNett

Unbiased Review for Newcomers.......2007-05-03
I debated writing this review because it's ultimately pointless. If you're a "Juggalo" you're probably going to buy this album regardless of anything I have to say about it. This review stands as an unbiased report of this album musically for people who are perhaps new to the Insane Clown Posse.
I'll start this off by saying, this album is pretty bad, but I've heard FAR worse music come out in the last 10 years. You have to approach this album from some viewpoint, ask yourself are you in to metal? Are you a fan of hip-hop or more specifically horror core? Are you a Juggalo?
If you're in to metal, and I mean strictly in to metal, then you're probably going to be highly dissapointed with this album. You may be lured in by a name like Slash, but Guns And Roses this is not. Sure there's some metal riffs here and there but this is prodminantly a hip-hop album. There's less metal/hip-hop integration here than bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park just to give you a feel for what I'm trying to say.
If you're approaching this album as a real hip-hop head or somebody who's really in to horror core rap then again you will be let down. They've got some clever punchlines here and there and some decent flow at times, but for the most part their ability to rap is very elementary like early Beastie Boys. For the most part all I can say is that their rhyming is very rough around the edges, maybe that's what they're going for but for all intensive purposes it doesn't stack up to other horror core artists like Necro, more specifically Ill Bill, and Gravediggaz. When compared to hip-hop at it's core, this album is a complete joke. Shaggy and Violent J can't hold a candle to artists like Murs, Brother Ali, Immortal Technique, Jay Z, Eyedea... the list goes on. The production is again pretty spotty, it's their first commercial release and it's alright but as far as beats go this album is just kind of corny and really plays in to the whole "Dark Carnival" image, it's pretty dissapointing. One million dollars when this album was made should have bought a far better finished product.
If you're a Juggalo you're going to buy this album regardless of what I have to say. You'll probably like it, by ICP standards it's a pretty solid album. I don't know how you can relate to the subject matter of this music because I tend to find it a bit unrealistic, but that's not my problem, this album serves as the blueprint for all ICP albums to come so I can say with some certainty you probably know what you're in for.
In about junior high the people I hung out with listened to this album constantly, I've never been a big fan but unlike some of the other reviewers for this product I figured it deserved a fair review. We're not here to review people's lifestyle but musically this album is pretty damn bad. If you like it more power to you, I think it sucks pretty bad and I would urge you to not buy it, but it's a little ridiculous to poorly review this album and then do nothing but slam Juggalos regardless of how silly they are.
The Psychopathic Records Masterpiece.......2007-02-07
The true breakthrough of ICP, and the horrorcore genre, from cult rap to shock rap/metal hybrid, if ICP has one thing to be proud of during their career it's this album. Every cut here, with the exception of one or two are essential and easily identidifiable classics for the juggalo/juggalette family. Starting off with the best intro that induces the suspenful and even creepy intro that the others intended but never got off the ground, the Milenko chant flows into Hokus Pokus, one of their best songs, Piggy Pie, while most unknown keeps the flow going and How Many Times features one of their best beats. Southwest Voodoo which is amonsgt the highlight of highlights here needs nothing said about it, as does Hall Of Illusion (feat/Slash on guitar), along with another of their unique "ballads" Under The Moon. House Of Horrors, and their monster movie classic Boogie Woogie Wu, along with a perfect example of the sexual vulgarity humour on The Neden Game. Closing out with the last batch of classics Down With The Clown and one of their more serious songs Pass Me By, this album plays to its fans like many of rocks great albums (Paranoid, Led Zeppelin IV, The Cars, Are You Experienced, Kiss) an album with endless highlights and artistic triumphs for the group and although its obvious ICP will never be amongst such legends for their fans this one is the ONE. It may not be everyones favorite, and maybe it became the success it did because of the controversey of Hollywoods records (owned by Disney that feared the content but somehow spent 1 million dollars on its recording [!])pulling it on its release date, but on a musical background, this album and it's production by Mike E.Clark, the writing and the horrorcore, and the sexual humour reaches it's highpoint as the best thing they have done. With the Ringmaster coming in a close second 5/5
The Best Joker's Card.......2007-01-05
In my opinion, this is the best joker's card and album ICP has ever released. What makes this cd great? Well, a 1 million dollar budget doesn't hurt. Guest spots by rock legends Alice Cooper and Slash certainly doesn't hurt either. This cd has a good mix of humor, horrorcore, and rap/rock that's executed to perfection. Start with this joker's card first.

4.5 stars? Is this a joke?!!.......2006-12-02
Before I start reviewing, don't give me that poo like "Loosen up and get a sense of humor because ICP is hilarious" because if ICP were actually funny, I'd appreciate them, but they're not, they're just really annoying and stupid. The beats and rapping are terrible, and their attempts at being funny fail miserably.
However, I don't know what's worse, ICP or the Jugalos? I'd say the Jugalos because ALL of them are stupid 13-15 year-old trailer-trash wiggers that also enjoy abyssmal "music" like Slipknot, DMX, Kanye West, and Korn. If you blasted some Morbid Angel (preferably "Altars of Madness") infront of these "Jugalos," they'd all soil themselves and run away crying.
If you want music that's actually funny, go for GWAR. Oderus Urungus will not only make you laugh intensely, but would turn Violent Gay into a pile of McDonald's meat.
The Stalka.......2006-11-02
First off, disregard amazon's review for this album...This album ain't only about humor, it's got a whole nuther meaning to it and if u wanna find out what it is u need to check it out. The songs that have a message other than that of comedy are "Piggy Pie" "How Many Times" "Halls of Illusions" "Under the Moon" "Hellalujah" "Down With the Clown" and "Pass me by".....

Album Description
You find yourself locked in place, bound by forces both familiar and frightening. A rumble, a tremble travels up your spine, a bass blast from supernatural speakers. Strobing lights blind your eyes, an unearthly spectacle beyond any made by man. Strap on your seatbelts, for you have entered... The Tempest.
You have reached a pinnacle, a peak in a journey that began years ago, when the Dark Carnival opened its gates and the Insane Clown Posse unleashed the Carnival of Carnage. That was the first of six mighty Joker's Card albums, a decade-spanning saga that climaxed with the platinum-selling Great Milenko and Amazing Jeckel Bothers, and wrapped with a vision of the afterlife, The Wraith: Shangri-La and Hell's Pit. The Joker's Cards had been dealt, but the Carnival carried on, as the caravan entered The Calm, 2005's record-breaking EP. That was just a prelude, an opening chapter to a new era for the Insane Clown Posse's Dark Carnival chronicle. The storm has loomed on the horizon, but now The Tempest is here...
Hold on tight, cuz that's not just your life flashing before your eyes. It's a story of life, death, sin and redemption, conducted in the clouds by the Insane Clown Posse, and you're about to drop in. get ready to ride the wind...

Worst Psychopathic release ever!.......2007-07-24
I cannot explain how disappointed I was when I unwrapped this album and popped it into my player...I almost couldnt listen to it. Where is ICP? This is not J and Shaggs...what happened to the good old days of psychopathic? I think they are getting to comfortable and know that juggalos will buy whatever they release. This is such a waste of money. The last good album from ICP was The Wraith. Hells Pit was horrible as well. Once they started to talk about God and Heaven (Shangri-la) I think they just lost it. Where are the days of Dead Body Man, Piggy Pie, Headless Boogie, Wagon Wagon, Chicken Huntin, Red Neck Hoe, Blacken Yo Eyes, I Stuck Her With My Wang, Cotton Candy, and Hokus Pokus? This new era of ICP, and Psychopathic for that matter, is just soft. They are way out in left field and I think that only "new" juggalos are gonna be feelin their new stuff. Most old skool juggalos are gonna feel like me. THe new Rydas album seems promising with the addition of Boondox but I guess were gonna have to wait to find out. As far as The Tempest goes...don't bother!
HOLY COW! "YOU CAN DANCE TO IT!" ICP is B-A-C-K!.......2007-07-08
I have to admit it.
I only bought this album because I knew that Mike E Clark had hooked up with ICP again.
After wasting money on The Wraith and The Calm....well, all I can say is that I really don't like throwing money at guys who are just barely trying.
BUT...
THIS ALBUM RE-ESTABLISHES AND RE-DEFINES ICP + Mike E Clark.
Believe it or not, Violent J ...and Shags actually sing on this album ...and it ROCKS.
There are some genuinely EXCELLENT "tunes" on this CD....
And while Violent J and Shags have both mellowed a bit...they can still produce BRILLIANT "NUTTY" material when they want to.
I really enjoyed this CD...and I think you will too!
It's DEFINITELY a KEEPER!
i really liked this album .......2007-05-22
icp for the most part has disappointed me in the past with the releases of abk,amb and Esham. but i have to say this album is up there with the Jeckel Brothers era.
Much better than the Calm........2007-05-10
(This review is for Juggalos, it ain't for people who just want to hear some pop BS rapping about rims and BS. So if you like Mush Mouth, AKA 50 pennies, you won't like the ICP. Oh and Quit snitchen!
<:-D)....
On to the review, this wan an excellent CD. With The Calm many people were jumping off of bridges saying "ICP sucks now!" ect... Well F you if you were saying that sheet moron! They have made more god dammed CDs than any other artist out there, they are like dope fiends who need a hit and the only way to get that hit is by making CDs, so naturally when you make as many as they do, one or two will not be the best CD out there. "But what about us, we paid good money for this CD?" If you have not learned now to steal CD's (because the artists still get paid), you're a lame.
OK really on to the review.
Songs
The Sky is Falling: ***** Excellent intro, makes you want to sing this drunk reaking of alcohol while carrying a baseball bat.
Ride The Tempest ***** This one makes you want to speed, drunk, driving the wrong way down a major street, another excellent song.
Alley Rat **** Some reason this song reminds me of the 80s, not a bad song. It is good.
Haunted Bumps *** It is OK.
Growing Again ***** A good storytelling type song. This is where ICP excels in the music industry, they tell a story the best.
Hum Drum Boogie ***** Their token hilariously sexually explicit song on their CD. Very entertaining.
I Do This! ***** I love this song, I just friggin love it.
What About Now *** It is OK.
Watch My Ride **** Nice anger song, good to listen to when you are hungry for a fight.
News at 6 O'Clock ***** Excellent song. Good commentary on our society, especially important with the recent VA Tech Shootings.
The Tower ***** Great anger song. Reminds me of my Iraq war Vet friends.
The Party ** Shaggy really likes house, I like house but ain't in love with the whole DJ scene. I still lub em, but I just ain't digging it. Maybe others do, if so good for them. This is just a personal taste thing to me.
B---- I lied ***** A song that is core to juggalo ideology with regard to anger over being rejected by these sl-ts. Excellent song to listen to while thinking about some chick who pissed you off.
Play My Song **** Another good song to listen to while in a violent mood.
Mexico City ***** I love this song, when I get caught with some felony, I will be listening to this song while taking the Greyhound South.
If I Was a Serial Killer ***** A song that juggalos will be holding lighters up to. I love this song and play it at least 10 times a day.
Over all, Tempest is a ***** 5 Star Album. Mike Clark makes a hell of a comeback, you can really here it in this CD. It reminds me of the good Ole days.
THE CLOWNZ ARE BACK NINJA STYLE.......2007-05-10
What can I say but a brilliant album. from start to finish. I recommend this. Juggalo or not.

The rise of the Insane Clown Posse--or a group very much like them--was probably inevitable; somebody had to play the part of Howard Stern in the rap world. That it was two guys in clown makeup who rap--badly--over prerecorded tracks and spray their audiences with soda was a pure accident, brought about when their former record label dropped the act on the eve of the release of The Great Milenko. The Amazing Jeckel Brothers, their first proper follow-up album to Milenko, capitalizes on their notoriety; it features guests like the Jerky Boys and Ol' Dirty Bastard and issues challenges to MTV, Lollapalooza, and Kiss bassist Gene Simmons--whom ICP accuse of stealing their "shit" (though shtick would be a more appropriate word, and it was Simmons's in the first place). ICP stick with the formula on Jeckel Brothers that they've, um, perfected; it's not for everyone, but fans won't be disappointed. --Randy Silver

This was the fist CD i ever bought from ICP, and its #1
icp sucks.......2007-05-01
Icp is the most untalented rap group ive ever heard. their rhymes are weak and the all sound the same. the only reason they are popular is because they appeal to the gothic kids with shocking and violent lyrics. thats the only reason anyone likes them. no true rap fan does. I dont hate icp because they arent gangster like most rappers or because they rap about killing people. I hate them because their terrible. and im begging icp to do a rap battle with any real emcee especially eminem because they would get wasted.
A Great Effort...4.5 Stars.......2007-01-05
In my opinion, this is probably the third best joker's card in the series (the top being Great Milenko followed by Riddle Box). The rap/rock fusion is an improvement from The Great Milenko. This cd does has some short comings though. Personally, I hate it when ICP has guest appearences outside of the Dark Carnival family. The songs featuring Snoop Dogg and ODB sound kind of lame and forced (ICP later admitted that these songs were semi-forced by their record company in an attempt to appeal to more people). Luckily though, these are the only two songs that suck on the album.

Jack and Jake Jeckel rest in all of us, for they are the very fabric of our conscious being........2006-06-23
His evil influence flows from the city streets like red molten ooze, filling every alley and gutter. There are those who are burnt by it, like the charred remains of a napalm strike. He moves in silence, yet with his heat comes ear-shattering screams as the masses are scorched in his choking smoke of corruption. His fire consumes like a lethal injection flowing through the veins of a dying convict. Hosts of small red ants crawl in the wake of his presence, biting and stinging flesh. His holocaust fills the woods of hope and prosperity like a wave of hungry piranhas on a newborn lamb. He goes by many names, but for now let it be spoken like the force of a fireball bursting into a crowd. He's Jack, pure and simple... Jack Jeckel.
His glow of compassion kindles the heart, like a campfire on a cold winter's eve. His embers burn eternally, spreading the flame of mercy like a warm blanket over the shoulders of a vagabond. His kindness is fueled by sympathy for human suffering, but his inferno of righteous cause, incinerates creatures of sin to ash. The torch of his salvation guides wanderers in the dark abyss to freedom. Its flaring sparks float on the winds of change, like soaring birds recently freed from a dreary cage. Laughter explodes forth from the essence of his being, radiating the land with childish joy. He has many names, but for now let it be spoken like melodic music drifting through the air. He's Jake, true indeed... Jake Jeckel.
Emerging from the Dark Carnival like phantom smoke drifting into the minds of men, they are the Amazing Jeckel Brothers. A chaotic duo of juggling masters, Jack "the sinister" and Jake "the just" juggle the sins of mortal men. The price of admission to their show is a mere human soul.
When death creeps around and life decays, the departed spirit will begin its journey. A vision of a candle will begin to form like a distant dream with billowing smoke rising from its eternal flame. In this thick haze the deceased will begin to see an image of Jake and Jack Jeckel juggling red balls between themselves. Each ball soaked in fresh blood and pulsating like an erratic living heart. For every sin committed in a mortal's life another ball is added to their unearthly performance and the harder it becomes. The deceased will witness sinister Jack throwing Jake curves in a vile attempt to see a ball drop. For if they should fumble in their act, a pit of infinite evil shall open beneath the feet of the viewer and cast the soul into an eternity of pain and suffering. Success on the other hand, opens the gates of Shangri-La and grants one ascension into pure enlightenment and peace.
Jack and Jake Jeckel rest in all of us for they are the very fabric of our being conscience and soul. There is no escape from their Juggling act because there is no way to escape from ourselves. Only in death will we realize this as we twist and spin to the other side.
This is definetly in my top 3 Joker's cards of all time. It was also the first ICP album that I fell in love with, when I bought it back in 1999. This is their most notorious release, due to the media hype/controversy that appeared during the Great Milenko era the previous two years. Appearences on this album, are Twiztd, Snoop Dogg and ODB, Ice T also appeared on a song that was supposed to appear on this album, however they left it off. ICP wished to be taken more seriously in this era, hence the more "famous" rap appearences.
Intro - ?/? Every Jokers card has a great intro, it all started with a lamp...
Jake Jeckel 5/5 Almost, like an intro for Jake, even though it is odd for an album to have two intros in a row, I like this alot though. "Jack throw another one Jake catch one more, they'll try to catch all that's in store for you...How many souls will fall from the sky? How many souls burn wondering why?"
Bring It On 5/5 Every ICP album has one of these, an opening gull length song which is pretty much a middle finger to all not down.
I want My S*it 5/5 Not the most charming name, maybe childish and blunt. A story done by Violent J about a man who just can't seem to die, unless he gets what he wants.
B*tches - 5/5 Featuring the one and only ODB from the Wu-Tang Clan!!! The song wasn't even called B*tches, but odb butchered the song so bad, icp was forced to change the name and their own verses all because of his screw up. They turned something horrid into something great.
Terrible - 5/5 A rock type song here,an angry one at that, J and Shaggy blow steam off at the media and society.
I Stab people 3.5/5 Not even a full song, Good for what it is though, pretty funny. Godda love the humorous flow J uses here.
Another Love Song - 4.5/5 A laid back type song...well for ICP standards not the mainstream standard. Single for the album. The things they do for their women, eh?
Everybody Rize - 10/5 An "anthem" so to speak, or for icp's standards. One of the best here, a strong beat.
Play With Me - 5/5 Another story from Violent J, except this time, he plays the part of an action figure long forgotten by it's owner, until one night it seeks revenge....
Jack Jeckel - 5/5 Part two, pretty much the same thing as Jake Jeckel except this one is done by Shaggy 2 Dope.
Fu*k the World - 15/5 Classic icp track, Pretty much their ode to not giving a damn to what anybody thinks.
The Shaggy Show - 4/5 Shaggy has the spotlight here, funny song. Snoops is weak, hence why it's 4 and not 5. He even promotes his new album here, how stale is that? Shaggy works wonders here though.
Mad Professor - 5/5 Violent J is a nut job trying to make a friend, and Shaggy 2 Dope is his loyal creation. A great mix for a horrorcore rap song.
Assassians - 10/5 One of the best songs here, again more rock fueled. a Ghetto Boys cover song, with icp flavor added.
Echo Side - 5/5 The final two songs are pretty deep, this song features Twiztid and was meant to be a Dark Lotus song. Revolving around Damien and his trip through hell.
Nothing's Left - 10/5 A song, about how everything has been done before and nothing is new. The usual heart felt closing song Insane Clown Posse is known for.
So, to end this. This is one of their best. Mixing horror with humor and their beliefs fans have come to love. I recommend this for all icp fans.
P.S. El Lagarto, since when would icp fans take the opinion of a f*cking Devo fan seriously!?
Yeah, point proven.
Every Bottom Has A Cellar Below It.......2006-06-07
How does one describe what's good about this CD, and more to the point, why? Let's just say that the Insane Clown Posse has done the impossible. Innumerable listeners, (especially the unwilling ones), cite sampling - violent, moronic, and misogynistic lyrics - mind-numbing repetition - pseudo-gangster posing - pretensions of significance - cretinous anti-musicality - and the complete absence of anything remotely pleasing or nourishing to the spirit - as evidence that rap represents the lowest point in the history of music. Frankly, it's hard to take issue with this perspective. But every bottom has a cellar below it and the Insane Clown Posse actually found a way to make rap even worse.
When ICP poured out of their little circus car and onto the scene, they brought a whole new level of degradation to the rubble. The clown make-up is probably there for the same reason Kiss has used freakish make-up all these years, to disguise hideous ugliness. That's one thing. But ICP also borrowed heavily from the world of professional wrestling, that twisted landscape combining pretensions of machismo, thinly veiled homosexuality of the muscle-man variety, bombast, and Cro-Magnon, uni-brow sensibility into an unctuous goo of theatricality appealing to the basest human and sub-human emotions. The ICP's pointless yelling, rants, challenges, and threats of bodily injury almost provide ample distraction from their complete lack of anything that might pass as talent.
With the imprimatur of the Stern show, (the absolute baseline of all sludge, the gold standard of bad taste), they were on their way. Seltzer water in the faces of their fans was only the coup de grace, the last touch. Maybe that's the good news of ICP. Perhaps they will help people finally see rap for what it is - hideous clatter produced by clowns with no musical aptitude and nothing to say.

As a grown-up, I don't get this stuff, but my 21 year old daughter loves it. Go figure! Not for the young, though!!!
It's The Wicked Clown Show.......2007-05-08
Riddlebox. Just saying that brings to mind some great memories I've had with this album playing. This is one of my favorite ICP albums, though its hard to pick a favorite. This was one of ICP's darkest albums and one of their best.
Intro(9/10) Sets up the mood for the album.
Riddlebox(9/10) Short song about what the Riddlebox is and sets the tone for whats to come.
The Show Must Go On(10/10) A song of almost perfection. Good lyrics, great chorus, cool circus music.
Chicken Huntin'(10/10) Like I said in my review of Ringmaster, this version in my opinion is superior. Great lyrics mixed with great music.
Interview Skit(8/10) Funny mock interview about the band.
Toy Box(10/10) Kickin' song about being a nerd and making your own toys that kill those you hate.
Cemetary Girl(10/10) The warpedness is great. Being able to joke about certain topics (like digging up your dead girlfriend) is what has always made ICP unique.
3 Rings(9/10) Good song about being a freek show. Catchy song.
Headless Boogie(8/10) Has its ups and downs. Realy good chorus.
The Joker's Wild(9/10) J has his own game show and tortures the contestants who screwed him over.
Dead Body Man(10/10) Also on Tunnel Of Love EP. For those that don't know this song rocks. A Juggalo fav that they play at their shows.
Lil' Somthin' Somthin'(3/10) Just couldn't get into it. Never realy liked it.
Ol' Evil Eye(9/10) Edgar Allen Poe-ish song about an old man with a weird eye and they kill him.
12(10/10) One of the best songs on the album. True wicked s***. ICP style.
Killing Fields(8/10) Creepy song about being dead and being damned to roam in the killing fields.
I'm Coming Home(5/10) I'll get bashed by other Juggalos for saying this but I don't realy care for this song. I think its the music I don't like. Either way, it grows on you. I usually skip it.
Overall, One of ICP's best. MCL
The jokes on you.......2007-02-28
The Riddle Box was ICP's 3rd LP album, and 3rd Joker's Card released in 1995. Finally they were on a major record label, Jive. However, Jive didnt distribute this album all over the country, they just kept it in Detroit, so ICP personally traveled down to Texas and promoted themselves down there and became quite popular in that area, and proved they werent just a local Detroit thing. They changed up their style a little bit, from rapping about gangsta clown type stuff, to rapping more wicked. This is some of ICP's best work in my opinion.
Intro: Intro to the album. You hear a car crash, and then a man is introduced to the Riddle Box, he turns the crank to decide his fate.
Riddle Box: 3/5 - This basically sets the tone of the album, and explains the Riddle Box a little more. Nice beat.
The Show Must Go On: 4/5 - About being freak show clowns.
Chicken Huntin' (Slaughter House Mix) - 5/5 - This is by far ICP's biggest song. Played at every single concert. This was also their first music video that they released.
Interview: 1/5 - Just a skit where a guy asks questions and they respond with goofy noises.
Toy Box: 3/5 - About a boy who has no friends and gets picked on so he makes evil toys that kill people.
Cemetary Girl: 4/5 - This is about Violent J having a dead girlfriend that he digs up cause he misses her.
3 Rings: 4/5 - Its about side show freaks at a carnival
Headless Boogie: 4/5 - Nice beat. Catchy hook. Its about dead people dancing without heads.
The Joker's Wild: 3/5 - I like this beat a lot. The theme of this song is its a game show hosted by Violent J, and people he doesnt like have to play and they all die basically.
Dead Body Man: 5/5 - Classic ICP song. This can also be found on the Terror Wheel Album, but this one has a little news skit before the song. Its about a man who collects dead bodies. This was covered by Blaze in 2002.
Lil' Somthin' Somthin': 4/5 - Here the album tones down a little bit. This song is about ... girls.
Ol Evil Eye: 5/5 - This is probably my all time favorite ICP song. This is a very dark song, the song is pretty much based on The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe, and you can even hear it being recited before the song starts.
12: 3/5 - A man gets killed by the death penalty and comes back to kill the 12 jurors who convicted him. Lyrics to this song was found on 1 of the Columbine kids webpages and this caused some controversy.
The Killing Fields: 3/5 - This is a very dark song. This is where all the bad people go when they die.
I'm Coming Home: 4/5 - Good song to end the album with. The title pretty much explains it.
This is some of ICP's best work so if youre a fan of the clowns and you dont have this album, GET IT!
I rate this album 5/5.
Inner City Becomes Insane Clown.......2007-02-07
Carnival and Ringmaster were great albums yes, with definite highlights, but Riddlebox was the first true Insane Clown Posse record. Not making it big yet and signing to Jive Records who eventually screwed them over in the end, the opener on this one is better than the previous outings, and we see the remix of Chicken Huntin' which was featured on Ringmaster, and although it is a small highlight on that one, this version is much favoured and truely where the song comes into its own. Along with CH the interesting Toy Box (featuring one of their best storyline outros), Killing Fields and one of ICP's trademark tunes Cemetary Girl, which is easily recognizable to any lo's/lettes' that clinged on during the Milenko/Jeckels period. There are a number of great underrated tracks here including Lil' Somethin' Somethin' and Ol' Evil Eye, Jokers Wild, and their best closer ever I'm Comin' Home, this song finds some true emotion breaking through. A great album that was the perfect mid point between the cult classics of Carnival and Ringmaster to the epichol breakthrough of Milenko and Jeckel. 4/5
ICP's First Classic.......2007-01-05
ICP nail it on this one. While Carnival of Carnage was a worthy debut and Ringmaster was an improvment over Carnival, this is the album that brings ICP full circle. Everybody knows the story behind this cd, so I won't rehash it. The only thing i've got to say is that the backing of Jive and a decent budget to work with really make this this cd work. Unfortunately, past efforts suffer from some a very limited budget. Recommended to anybody with an open mind.

For your enjoyment; the I-C...muthafu**kin' P!.......2007-03-18
Fresh from their Inner City Posse/Dog Beats days and with a new concept and idea, the young Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope present us with the first episode of the dark carnival - Carnival Of Carnage. This album focuses a lot on the government shunning of the ghetto and lower class urban life. The intro introduces everything nicely, following into a great beat with the title track song that leads us into the real album and the best ICP song ever, the trademark Juggla. This song introduces the horrorcore songwriting and the sampling of Prince's Kiss puts this one into overdrive. There is no rock hybrid on this early work, all pure rap. First Day Out mellows things out, before we get into another dose of classic early ICP - Red Neck Hoe, while it may seem immature and reptitive upon first listen, the music as well as "lyrics" will grow on you. There are numorous weak cuts here including Is That You, featuring an unknown Kid Rock, the pedestrian Guts On The Ceiling. But things pick up for the slasher movie influenced must hear Psychopathic and Your Rebel Flag, as well as Never Had It Made and the pre closer Ghetto Freak Show, I also believe that the true overlooked gem though is said closer, the funky Taste - featuring, Nate The Mack, Capitol E, Jumpsteady and Esham about revenge on the govt's actions towards the ghetto life, the song cooks. So on the first page of the dark carnival, they introduce themselves on right start and this direction would only be polished and further explored as they went on.
Carnival Of Carnage.......2007-02-28
Here we have the very first Insane Clown Posse album, and first Joker's Card "Carnival Of Carnage". Recorded back in 1992 when ICP was 3 members. Before ICP ever had a record deal, just as young teenage kids. This album sold 17 copies on the day it was released, and thats the reason behind ICP using the number 17 in many songs throughout their career.
Intro: Spoken intro by Violent J. This introduces the Carnival Of Carnage to you. With carnival sounds in the background.
Carnival Of Carnage: 4/5 - This song sets the tone of the album. Produced by the legendary Esham. Just the words "Carnival Of Carnage" repeating over and over, over a nice beat.
The Juggla: 4/5 - One of the best songs on the album. Introducing Violent J to you as "The Juggla".
First Day Out: 3/5 - This song was later covered by Twiztid on the album Mostasteless. The theme to this song, is Violent J gets out of jail and goes on a date to "catch his nut".
Red Neck Hoe: 3/5 - This is the first song on the album with all 3 members of ICP on it. This track is basically dissin girls from down south. This song was later re-recorded with Twiztid on it in 1999
Wizard Of The Hood: 3/5 - Okay, this is like the 3rd version of this song, it was made twice before on Inner City Posse albums "Dog Beats" and "Intelligence & Violence". This is a thugged out version of "Wizard Of Oz".
Guts On The Ceiling: 2/5 - A song about Violent J walking around Detroit to find his body parts that he lost.
Is That You?: 5/5 - This is a song featuring the legendary Kid Rock back when he was about 21 years old. Probably the only time you will ever hear ICP and Kid Rock on the same track. One of my favorite songs on the album.
Night Of The Axe: 3/5 - This song is only available on the original version of the album. ICP later made a sequel to this song on the album Hells Pit called "Night Of The .44". This song is about Violent J going on a killing spree, its pretty violent.
Psychopathic: 3/5 - The beat to this song is kind of like a horrorcore version of "More Bounce To The Ounce" from Zap & Roger Troutman.
Blackin' Your Eyes: 2/5 - Another song only available on the original version of this album. Produced by Esham, and features Shaggy & John Kickchass rapping and Violent J just says a few words. So this is pretty much a piece of history as far as ICP goes. This song is about beating up girls who cheat or break hearts. But, what else can you expect from some teenagers.
Never Had It Made: 3/5 - Co-Produced by Esham.
Your Rebel Flag: 5/5 - This is a CLASSIC ICP song. Its about killing racist rednecks and burning rebel flag's. One of the very few songs that features all 3 members of ICP.
Ghetto Freak Show: 4/5 - Produced by Esham. Catchy hook.
Taste: 5/5 - Featuring Esham, Capitol E, and Jumpsteady. Good song to top off the album with. Also, features all 3 members of ICP.
Bottom line this is a decent album. Worth buying in my opinion. Especially if youre an ICP fan. Over all i give this album 3/5.
ICP's First Album, But Not Their Best..........2007-01-05
While this cd does contain some classic cuts, it's just not up to par with nearly all of the releases that follow this. Having said that, this is still a good debut that shows some promise. I mean you have to take into account that ICP had a very limited budget and limited studio technology. If you're a juggalo, then you already have this (or you should!). If you're an ICP fan who is more into rock/metal aspect of ICP and music in general (like most of ICP's fan base, including myself), then be forewarned that this cd was made before ICP starting introducing rock elements into their music. Since i'm a completist(and a big ICP fan), this is a must own.

These guys were really BIG here in Detroit before going national. I remember when this album came out - I was 12 years old and we were still using cassettes.
This was back when they were still called I-C-P, not "Insane Clown Posse". (ICP actually stood for Inner City Posse before CoC)
CoC is in my opinion is one of the best albums - definitely the best of the Joker cards. I also highly recommend Beverly Kills 50187.
What to expect out of ICP.......2006-07-02
If you're new to the Juggalo World. You'll love Insane Clown Posse.
What get's to me is how they make a Jokers Card, or any EP.
The first half of the CD is funny, the second half is scary.
That's what the 1st Jokers Card is like. That's how they all are actually.

Lindsey's second solo leaves one curious about the state of his mental health. Taut and on the edge, it's full of paranoia. The songs are wiry, but full of the pop knowledge he's given to Fleetwood Mac, though nowhere near as laidback. "Loving Cup" and "Slow Dancing" are powerful pieces of music, while the title track made a curious hit single. It proves Buckingham made huge creative contributions to the Mac, and working alone gives him the freedom to be as off the wall as he wants to be. "D.W. Suite," dedicated to the late Dennis Wilson, offers some moments of neo-Celtic calm to the proceedings. --Chris Nickson

Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane.......2007-05-07
Love this album, Lindsey is the best guitar player of all times and his albums rock. I love him in Fleetwood Mac, but he is great alone. Some of the tunes are odd, but you will love them all. Play in the rain is excellent, part 2- its all music, no singing, and Im addicted to it. Have it loaded on my MP3 on continuous play
Edgy, snyth-heavy rock.......2006-10-12
Buckingham's sophomore solo album was another experimental set that was popular with music critics, but it failed to win much interest from the music-buying public and stalled #45 on the Hot 200. It seems as though many listeners were accusing Buckingham of putting style above substance and of being more interested in production gimmicks than actual song-writing. While it is true that Buckingham often prefers to place much of the emphasis on obsessively detailed production and lyrical tags rather than the traditional "song" format, I can't help but feel that many of these cynics have an extremely narrow-minded view of Buckingham's particular craft. It often goes unheralded, for example, that Buckingham also loads his tracks with compelling melodies and memorable hooks, which allows his compositions to function as true music rather than novel sound effects alone.
Perhaps a reflection of Buckingham's own personal strife at the time, GO INSANE is a rather dark recording, lacking the almost fun house-like fun of 1981's LAW AND ORDER. All of the wild and seemingly unrestrained production tricks crash in a harrowing collision on the stellar tracks "I Want You," "I Must Go," and "Bang the Drum," all which are consistently surprising and instantly memorable. A similar effect occurs on the terrific hit title track (#23 Pop, #4 Mainstream Rock), in which a mass of choral vocals combine into one nervy master work. The intoxicating "Playing in the Rain" retains it's mesmerizing hold through an effective reprise (which originally carried over to the second side of the original vinyl LP), while "Slow Dancing" and "Loving Cup" incorporate subtle electronic funk into Buckingham's catalog.
Best of all is the amazing "D. W. Suite," which closes the album. A tribute to the late Beach Boy Dennis Wilson, who was one of Buckingham's musical idols, this nearly seven minute track is a tour de force of sonic landscaping and effective song-writing. It is the one moment of the entire disc where Buckingham truly drops the mask and writes straight from his heart. After a full album of top-notch synthesizer-heavy rock, this bittersweet, genuinely moving epic is the perfect way to bring the whirlwind to a close.
Going Insane Is Okay.......2006-10-02
This is one of the greatest Rock Albums in history, easily in my Top 10 of all time. The music, the lyrics, everything is so powerful, and from one of the premiere musicians of all time.
An over-looked masterpiece.......2006-09-15
I first purchased 'Go Insane' on vinyl back when it was first issued in 1984. A year or two later I bought in on cassette. Listening to it today I think it has pretty much stood the test of time.
Buy it..you won't be sorry.
Raw.......2006-03-08
This album is not for everyone. Having said that, anyone who appreciates an artists willingness to experiment should love that aspect of "Go Insane." It is no holds barred Lindsey. While it may not display his brilliant guitar talent like "Out of the Cradle" does, it stands alone a work of art.

a mother's story.......2005-01-16
My son, Christopher Colt Kelley, was murdered on December 21, 2001. He was 15 years old and he was a real Juggalo. He used to try and get me to play ICP cd's all the time whenever we were riding in the car together and I wouldn't listen to them. When he was murdered I took the time to sit and listen to what he was in to. I haven't stopped listening to ICP yet. I met Violent J once before Shangri-La came out and I told him all about my son. He held my hand and told me in these words that I will never forget, "You should not be sad that he is gone, you should always look at it like this, whenever it rains, that's him Raining Diamonds down on you." Then Shangri-La dropped and I heard It Rains Diamonds...and I could not stop crying. Now I am a 37 year old Juggalette and I'll be that way 'til I'm dead in the ground. My son was buried with an ICP shirt on and a Hatchetman round his neck. And I plan on going the same way. Everyone has their own thoughts about ICP and the Dark Carnival...but if you're not a true Juggalo....you'll never get it. MCL and R.I.P. Colt....we miss you.

Forgotten Freshness Vol 1.......2004-12-15
This double cd is great and good for your ICP collection because it is full of rare songs
Hey Vato: Orginally for The Ringmaster album, ICP classic, played at most concerts, great lyrics too. 5/5
Dead Pumpkins: This song was given to Juggalos who wore clownpaint to their 1st Hallowicked show back in 93, it's ok.3/5
Fat Sweaty Betty: Another song given to the Juggalos, it's alright but after first listen i got sick of it. 2/5
Willy Bubba: This song was gonna be on The Riddlebox but no, then The Great Milenko but no and thank god because i think it is horrible with it's bad chorus. 1/5
Graveyard w/Project Born: Back when PB was on Psychopathic Records they did this track with ICP for there EP Born Dead (Get it)it is a good track. 4/5
F*ck Off: This solo song by Shaggy was off his album F*ck Off and it is crazy, a ICP classic. 5/5
I Didn't Mean To Kill Em: This song was made in 95 and didn't make the Riddlebox album, but it is good. 4/5
Southwest Strangla: Another Shaggy solo from F*ck Off, great track. 5/5
Santa's A Fat B*tch: This song was on a 4-track EP called A Carnival Christmas and then re-released as single in 97 over Christmas and got in to No.40 in the Billboards. 5/5
Witching Hour w/Myzery: This song is off Myzery's EP Para La Isla and it owns, i still wish Myzery was on the Psychopathic roster. 5/5
Overall: A good cd which you need to own with some ICP classics

What happened?.......2007-01-06
I love ICP, but honestly, what happened with this cd? It has a couple good songs, but seriously, Hell's Pit should've been the 6th joker's card.
This cd sounds completely different. It's more rock than anything. Weird Rock... sorry J and Shaggs, 3 stars.
The best Joker's Card, the Wraith........2006-09-26
First off, I'd like to say that anyone listening to this album that hasn't heard ALL of the other Joker's Cards has no chance of liking this album. Sure, you'll like a track here and there, but only once you've heard all the others will you fully understand how excellent of an album this is.
This being the last Card and all, ICP obviously had a lot of ideas over the years for this album, so it's very well rounded. There are all types of songs on here, like humor, meaning, and even an interesting story.
There is another album done by ICP called "The Wraith", but that's Hell's Pit, and this is Shangri-La, so it'll be focused on heaven. Plus some songs using the style that the Insane Clown Posse is generally known for, like "Birthday B*tches", "Get Ya Wicked On", and "Cotton Candy & Popsicles". I'm not going to say much more about this album, as a lot of it will be up to you to find out yourself after listening to everything else first.
I do recommend this, but only after you hear all of ICP's other work.
the end of time will consume us all.......2006-05-31

One of their best - no questions asked........2006-05-15
First off, I would like to say that I don't know what everybody hates about this album because this is the one where they explain everything, and more. It's different, but it's the meaning that counts. Also, look at albums like Carnival of Carnage - it was an empty album by itself, but everyone liked it once they knew what ICP was up to. Getting to the good about this album, it leaned a little more toward rock than the other ones did, but it's the most meaningful and conceptual. Plus, they add fun tracks here and there, like Murder Rap. The tracks on here aren't pointless. This album is ICP's vision of heaven, and it also tells everything about the Dark Carnival. If you look at the other version of the Wraith (Hell's Pit), then you will find that both of these albums are visions of heaven and hell, both of which are very bold visions, at that. This version of the Wraith was for the Juggalos who actually understand the viewpoints of the music, and Hell's Pit is for the rest of the world (in the words of Violent J, a place for those who chose to give a f**k less.) Personally, I think Shangri La and the Amazing Jeckel Brothers are the best albums by ICP. Here's the order of the cards best to least in my opinion:
The Wraith (Both)
The Amazing Jeckel Brothers (Tied with the Wraith)
The Ringmaster
The Riddle Box
Carnival of Carnage
The Great Milenko
If you want to know the meaning of everything after hearing the joker's cards, get this album - it's worth it.
Well, the bonus Gathering footage was cool..........2006-04-30
I need to get this out of the way before I go on with the review: I'm reviewing this album not as a Juggalo. I haven't been down with ICP since the very beginning when they were Inner City Posse. I haven't followed them through their entire career, collecting every album on every format possible, buying all the shirts and hats, or reading their comics. I've only been an ICP fan for about 5 years in all honesty. I haven't heard all their albums, but I like what I have heard. So know that this won't be a biased review where I go "if u liek da ICP u hav 2 luv dis". Truth be told, I couldn't wait for this album to come out. Rumors that this would be their final album, that there'd be another version to come out a week later, there were tons of rumors. On the Gathering of the Juggalos bonus disc that came with mine, Violent J finalized everything. It was unfortunate that I didn't get to hear that until I got it with the album here. But after giving Shangri-La a listen when it first came out, and still trying to get into it, I just can't give this album 4 or 5 stars. It's not that good. The music sounds cheap, the rhymes lack substance, there's hardly any Shaggy (something I've noticed since Jeckel Brothers), and J sounds bored for the most part. Add in that the album's too long for its own good, and you've got something that you kind of have to force yourself to listen through, and a sad end to one of this generation's most controversial music acts.
The album starts out good- an introduction to the carnival by the same zany high-pitched voice (sounding like Invader Zim) that's been in a lot of ICP's albums. The music for this track is ok, but when J and the others start to sing the chorus and sound bored off their asses, I began to worry. To be honest, none of the songs are memorable up until Birthday B*tches, where the good is outweighed by the bad. There are really only a couple of good tracks on this album. Most of them sound the same, have this dreary "rock" guitar riff going on, and J has the same tone in his voice in nearly every track. It took them how many years to do this, and this was the best they could do? Maybe another year in the studio could've helped. You know how you usually get a laugh or two out of most ICP tracks? Yeah, there's none of that until Birthday B*tches. And that song's only about 2 minutes long. After that, Blam!! is a pretty cool track hindered by the damn guitar riffs in the background. Skip ahead past the filler tracks and make it to Homies, which is an overall nice song about ICP's buddies who've been with them, and who will always be true friends. This is a great track, but it does start to suck when Twiztid kicks in. Ain't Yo Bidness and We Belong are two of my favorites on the album, and should've been placed near the beginning to make up for the sub-par tracks after the intro. Crossing the Bridge is excellent. It has yet another "rock" riff, but it's not annoying! It adds a lot of mood with scratches and open frets as J talks about how him and Shaggy have never had it easy. This is an inspiring track to say the least. More filler after this, but the final track: The Unveiling, is something that no one expected. I don't know if I should say what the Dark Carnival really is or not, for those who haven't heard by now, but it's not what you're expecting, especially that it's ICP who reveals what it is. This had many "true fans" freaking out and leaving ICP for dead. Honestly, I was kind of pleased to find out what it was. It shows that they have a side to them we didn't know about all along.
I wanted to like this album. I tried to kid myself and say it was one of their best when it first came out (aw c'mon, I was 17 at the time) mostly to not seem like an outcast to my other ICP fan friends. But after that initial listening, I've seen it for what it really is, and that's sheer averageness. But one of the main reasons to get The Wraith when it first came out was to get one of two variants: one with a bonus concert and the other with the Gathering speech. I opted for the Gathering footage because of how awesome it was to see J going over ICP's history in a literally once-in-a-lifetime event perspective, and talking about when the album was going to drop and what its name would be. From what I hear, the bonus concert version was pretty lame. The guys screwed up on some songs, and the audio quality was poor. I haven't seen it yet, and don't really want to, especially given how awesome the Gathering is. I'm sure you can download either one by now since it's been almost 4 years since the album came out. Also, the booklet for Shangri-La is probably the best of all the Joker's Cards. It has lots of cool photos of J and Shaggy (even one with Alex at the end) in angel outfits while carrying bloody weapons. Also included is the story of the Butterfly which J's mentioned for many years now.
Maybe the "real Juggalos" can kid themselves and add deeper meaning to this album than what's really there, but truth be told- this is a terrible album to claim as a Joker's Card, and a terrible start if you're new to ICP. Go for Carnival of Carnage, Bizaar, The Riddle Box or even *GASP* The Great Milenko for some of their finest stuff. I haven't heard Hell's Pit yet, and don't really want to since it's the sequel to this album, only "darker". That means they'll be trying too hard if you ask me. Only pick this one up to hear the select few good tracks or if you -need- all the Joker's Cards.

makes me wanna get into DnB again.......2007-07-05
Really dark & atmospheric....similar to Ram Trilogy, Ed Rush & Optical...though I admit I stopped listening to DnB back in 1999 when it got sorta repetitive for me. But this stuff is heavy and fast with a synthetic alien sound -- definitely not like the organic, "feel good" DnB that has pianos & divas yelling over the beats which I don't particularly care for (eg High Contrast). Anyway, when the rumbling bass kicks in on the first track "Arrakis" you're gonna be like "whoa". The tracks on the Disc 2 Mix are blended well and the setlist has a good buildup from beginning to end.
Addicting Album.......2007-05-12
For any person who enjoys drum and bass or even if they don't. The beats are intelligent and fantastic. Each song on the record has great appeal, I have listened to this album over and over again. The distinct sound that Black Sun Empire has can really be appreciated on this album. The song "Stasis" is one of the best dnb songs I have ever heard.
best D n B artist for sure.......2007-04-17
b negative is the sickest song of all times,
and scorned(dont know why 2nd cd isnt listed here) is the most beautiful and up lifitng d n b song i ve heard.
who ever thinks that d n b is boring with this album will see its whole beauty
black sun empire just rocks.......2006-04-10
another superb mix, everything has great breakdowns, it all flows together to create just a great sound, good hard music, that still has a lot of groove to it, very well done...
Sweet Jesus!.......2005-11-06
As previous reviewers stated, this is one of the best produced CDs I have ever heard. The bass H-I-T-S, and sounds fantastic!! All the levels are correct, so theres no distortion at loud volumes and all aspects of this disc shine. I have a good system in my car, and seriously cannot get enough of this CD. But, enough about the technical merits of this album, the music is fantastic as well. This is one of 2-3 CDs that I have ever listened to where every track is consistently good. I am definitely looking forward to hearing more from these guys in the future.

Since many Limp Bizkit, Eminem, and Korn fans aren't hip to the original rap influences that informed the late-1990s rap-metal explosion, Take a Bite Outta Rhyme's intentions are honorable--have rock bands cover tunes by rap luminaries such as Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and Ice-T. But things go astray with Dynamite Hack's intentionally sappy reworking of Eazy-E's "Boys-n-the Hood," followed by weak efforts from the overhyped Insane Clown Posse, Bloodhound Gang, and Dope. Then there are unimpressive entries from Driver, Factory 81, and Mindless Self Indulgence. The best renditions are heavy ones: Staind's "Bring the Noise," Sevendust's "Going Back to Cali," and Nonpoint's "The Tribute," which salutes Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes, and the Wu-Tang Clan. Rap-rock has come a long way since Aerosmith and Run-D.M.C. did "Walk This Way" and Anthrax performed a duet with Public Enemy, but as this CD indicates, the genre hasn't necessarily arrived at a better place. --Katherine Turman

phenomenal.......2006-09-21
I have owned this album sinced shortly after it came out, and I still LOVE IT!!!
Old school rap and heavy metal are two of my top musical genres, and this is a tremendous compilation... highest reccomendation for anyone who is a fan of the original hip hop tracks that are expertly covered on this album. Also highly reccomended for anyone who is a fan of any of the bands featured on this album. From Sevendust to the Kottonmouth Kings, this CD is solid, start to finsh. Can I give it 6 stars?
3.5 Stars - It's okay, not bad. But only a few noteables.......2005-04-11
Since this album has been out a while, this review is probably an utter waste of time as either you all probably own it or will never know about it. However, my thoughts are as follows...
It starts strong. Staind does good, no whining like their newer songs, and Mister Durst is about as odd as ever (odd meaning childish but fun at the same time). Sevendust's song is alright; I've never heard the original song that they covered, but from the sounds of things its written like a fifteen-year-old did it. From there, things dwindle and fade into background noise.
Then comes Nonpoint. This song starts good, gets you interested. After a little bit you notice it keeps getting heavier and weirder and doesn't relent. You may not like it. But, mark my words, it will soon grow on you. In time, you'll be owning their first album and loving that too. Then you'll get their second album and puke but that's another review...
So, if you've just now strayed onto this page and are looking at buying this cd of yesterday, I hope I have helped your decision-making. I would overall recommend it, but only for a few standout songs. The rest is just sub-par. Then again, I am not much of a rap fan but a rap/metal with emphasis on metal fan. So, decide for your own tastes. I do not think you will be overly disappointed at all.
Tha Tribute..........2003-02-13
This album, rare for alot of tribute albums, is actually pretty dope. I downloaded the track "Staind featuring Fred Durst and DJ Lethal of Limp Bizkit - Bring The Noise(Public Enemy/Anthrax cover)" and instantly I wanted this album. That song was only a part of this amazing CD. Dynamite Hack's Eazy-E cover of "Boyz-N-The Hood" is astounding. Its not heavy and loud, but has a nice acoustic guitar throughout the whole song. I guess you could call this a parody, but its my favorite track on the album. Insane Clown Posse(although a rap group) even appears. They do a cover of Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Posse On Broadway". I'm a huge ICP fan and I think this track is alright but a little out of place on this album. Its still classic though. KMK, also known as the Kotton Mouth Kings, do a cover of the Getto Boys' classic, "Mind Playin' Tricks On Me". This song is awesome and is a great introduction to future KMK fans. Mindless Self Indulgence do a cover of Method Man's "Bring The Pain". This song is totally awesome if you like M.S.I. Factory 81, a band who I've never heard before, does the Cypress Hill hit, "Insane in the Brain". This song is okay, I like the screams but I don't think he has a good rap voice. =)> All in all, this album is awesome. I recommend it to the extreme rap/metal fans and even heavy metal fans. This is a great compilation...

Why is the Emphasis on type of music?.......2003-01-23
I would have to claim this album to be one of the absolute best albums of all time!! I am about as all around in terms of music as you can get. I grew up on classic rock, rap, metal, classical, regea, oldies, country and even pop. This album is a great taster of some of the little known bands. The thought of taking some of the most classic rap songs and redoing them by these high potential up-and-coming groups is ingenious. This CD was my first experience with MSI, nonpoint, and factory 81. I have since fallen in love with the untapped greatness of each band. I even enjoyed the Staind song on the album and personally don't have much interest in the band. Dynamite Hack pulled off a miracle with Boyz, I didn't think that the song could ever be pulled off by anyone other than a rap group however they did it beautifully. Lets not forget the Clown's, KMKings, and even a little touch from the Jerky Boys, to round out this high quality CD.
I am very happy with the fact that this is a tribute by new rock musicians dedicated to old school rap. This album is proof that good new musicians will always find ways to press out from between the wastefulness of sellouts like Limp Bizkit and PapaRoach.
In finishing I would like to tell each and every one of you who are reading this review that you can't go wrong by buying this CD, you have gotten far enough to see my review you might as well buy it and see for yourself what a great album really sounds like. Since I bought this CD back in early 2001 I have passed it out successfully to more than a dozen friends with no complaints what so ever!! Very few CD's deserve 5 stars and in my opinion this deserves 5.5, but enough talk click buy, or at least find a friend who owns it.
Everyone Wants To Be A Hustler.......2002-07-11
This is a good CD. You don't have to like hip hop/rap to enjoy the remakes of these classic songs. Worth the purchase price? Yes, because Dope does a killer version of New Jack Hustler that will blow your mind.
