A Break in the Clouds
Editorial Reviews
Listen.com
Chasing Gray plays an extremely polished and professional style of Modern Folk a la Hootie and the Blowfish.
Northeast Performer Magazine
Chasing Gray play bouncy, acoustic-based relationship pop reminiscent of Toad the Wet Sprocket's more straightforward stuff or a less angst-ridden (and more acoustic) Counting Crows...
Album Description
A Break in the Clouds has be called "ecclectic acoustic-based melodic rock. There is also an addition multimedia CD-ROM presentation for your PC (which includes interviews, website links, and a unreleased version of "Overtaking").

Customer Reviews:
Great CD.......2001-06-23
A solid buy. Old school Toad the wet Sprocket... Much needed these days..
Chasing Gray.......2000-10-03
I think this CD is really great. I enjoy all the songs but in particular my favorites were before, candle, overtaking, someplace closer, at all, and better now. I love the vocals and they just kind of flow and you dont know it until the song ends. My only complaint, and a minor one at that, is that sleepin in saturdays isnt on this cd. that is my personal favorite by the band. other similar bands i like are guster, burlap to cashmere, dispatch, dovetail joint, athenaeum, papas fritas, and moe.
Outstanding.......2000-08-05
A friend of mine (whose brother is in the band) passed this one on to me. It was such an incredible surprise. This CD is now one of my all-time favorites. I listen to it over and over. The musicianship is tight and harmonic; the lyrics are thoughtful without the residual teen angst that plagues many bands that play the college curcuit. This is the type of CD that when it is added to a mix at a party people pause and ask, "Hey, who is this?"
Before.......2000-08-04
This song is unbelievable. The guitar, and the harmonies rock. I would recommend this band for anyone, especially because they are a BOSTON band.

Album Description
'A Break In The Clouds' is the first single off of 'Smile', the critically acclaimed 2000 album by this rootsy country/alt-rock group from Minneapolis. It's backed with three previously unreleased non-album tracks, live versions of 'What Led Me To This Town', 'Waiting For The Sun' (an original, not The Doors tune) and 'I'm Gonna Make You Love Me' (also an original, not the old Motown classic that the Supremes and the Temptations stormed the charts with). 2000 release. Slimline jewel case.

Customer Reviews:
Great little sampler!.......2000-10-17
The Jayhawks. A band America SHOULD know about, but for whatever reason, they aren't very well known. It's sad, really, because there's SO MUCH "crummy" music out there, a REAL band, with REAL songs exists in relative obscurity.
This is a GREAT sampler. The album track is one of my favs of all time, and the 'Hawks sound AWESOME on the live tracks!
I highly recommend this disc!
