Album Description
Bona Fide marks the third release for up and coming jam band Psychedelic Breakfast. The band, known for exploring the roots of funk, jazz, reggae and rock, and blending it into a volatile mix, showcase their efforts on this new live CD. Psychedelic Breakfast's unbridled talent shines through on the hour long romp recorded in Northampton, MA on September 14, 2002. Their mastery is highlighted by guitarist Tim Palmieri's virtuoso chops and drummer Adrian Tramontano's deft rhythms. Expanding on last year's appearances at South by Southwest, and festivals like High Sierra and Berkfest, Psychedelic Breakfast is expected to tour throughout the year playing clubs, theaters and summer festivals. Bona Fide is essential listening in the jam band genre, and for anyone with a appreciation for skilled musicianship.
Customer Reviews:
A Bona Fide Jam.......2007-02-06
The Breakfast (formerly Psychedelic Breakfast) is an incredibly talented trio of guitarist Tim Palmieri, bassist Ron Spears and drummer Adrian Tramontono. Studio albums are of top notch quality but there is no comparison to seeing a live show put on by The Breakfast. Bona Fide gives a glimse into the energy of a live show and the raw talent of Tim Palmieri. Any fan of rock and roll/funk rock needs to take a look at The Breakfast. Spread the word, these guys are the real deal!
Favorite stereo album.......2003-12-24
Of the jam rock scene, these guys are gaining progressively more recognition, and with good reason. A listen to anything on this album will reveal top-quality musicianship and talent on the part of all four members of the group. It is often said that a jam group plays best live, and this representation of the quartet shows them to be anything but slouches as they begin with the odd time signature-laden "Drunk Monk Bar," move through various shades of guitar monster Tim Palmieri's massive riffs and solos, before ending up in such exceptional jams as Escher's Etchings, Spunk, and Hot 'Lanta (an Allman Brothers cover, featuring perhaps some of the best work of guest guitarist Seth Yacavone). The cornerstone track on this album though is Rufus, an epic jam which plays around with the groups distinct reggae feel while again quickly returning to some of the craziest guitar slinging being practiced today. Hot album all around, with the exception that the vocals aren't up to the standard of the instrumental qualities. This album is excellent for cranking up on a good stereo, I can think of no jam album better for that purpose.

Best release of 2001.......2003-03-06
Nine tracks of pure genious. This band combines jazz, funk and rock and roll into a delicious musical meal. This CD is a must have for any fans of improvisational music, i.e. Zappa, Phish, Grateful Dead. They draw influences from so many differenet places that they can't be fully described by just one musical genre. Check them out for yourself and you won't be disappointed.

Buy this album!!.......2005-06-29
These guys are the next big thing in independent music!! Think Pink Floyd meets Frank Zappa meets Phish meets Van Halen. Great Great band!!
Great CD.......2003-03-06
This CD is the first of many great Psychedelic Breakfast Albums.
it's all been done before...........2002-11-20
Phish, if you want phish - buy their albums, not a tribute band - like the title sais, it's all been done before kids...
calling all phish phans.......2001-07-09
If you are a fan of phish ,the dead ,or just a fan of jam bands. This cd is for serious psychedelic, spaced out, buggin, trippy music phans the style, the music, the sound, the lyrics. This group toally surprised me on how much they remind me of phish with a hint of the grateful dead. I mean the jams are tight and full of that spacey, dreamy type feeling.A must have for jam band fans.I love this cd, its the closest thing to a new phish cd, but with a few surprises thrown in...... a definite favorite!!
GREAT JAM BAND.......2001-05-01
This is a great CD, but it dosn't compare to there live shows. Buy this CD if you love a good old Jam Band with some funky grooves.
