5 out of 5 stars Exellent representation.......2001-02-16

This Cd is a great place to start if you`re wondering what this band is all about. First off, it gives you that wonderful small club sound and feel, second, the band`s set list on the Cd is a smoking snapshot of this bands high energy and musicianship. From the wonderful opening shot, with it`s appropo line "Look who just walked thru the door" to it`s mini opus jam of Elani, to the blue collar demand of Gimme a Raise, this band raises the bar for other bands to follow. The rhythym section is tight, and the guitars burn. And since the Wu is another one of those bands that are costantly on tour, go and see them when they hit your town because they bring the goodtime. I guess my only my only regret is my favorite song Kangaroo wasn`t included, but that`s a matter of preference only. Again, GET OUT AND SEE THIS BAND AND BUY THEIR CD`s, you won`t regret it.

5 out of 5 stars What a find!.......2000-07-28

The Big Wu are an excetionally talented developing new band. I recently had the honor of seeing them in Boston, Mass, and the boys know how to perform. Their music is light and airy, with a good back-country jam feel and a ton of smiles and laughs. heir lyrics range rom the silly to the contemplative. This live album focuses some of their better work, though I will say that I've heard them perform even better. "Southern Energy" tops the album as the unquestionable highlight, while their rendition of "Man Smart, Woman Smarter" shows them at their enjoyable pinnacle. These guys will go far; do not miss their work.
