Customer Reviews:
Much better than the movie.......2006-01-12
The soundtrack was much better than the movie, which has been long forgotten. Unfortunately, this means the soundtrack is merely above average compared to a dog of a film. It's a decent cross-section of heavy industrial rock and techno.
Another Great Mortal Kombat Soundtrack.......2005-08-06
For all of you who liked the music from the Mortal Kombat Annihilation movie, I highly recommend this soundtrack. It is full of good songs, mostly heavy (for the fight scenes), but also a moment of Zen (Libra Presents Taylor- Anomaly). That is a very sweet song. If you like this compilation, check out the previous two, Mortal Kombat The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Mortal Kombat More Kombat.
This CD is EXELLENT.......2004-11-29
This CD I really love.I wanna say that I was the first to get this CD because I was able to get this CD before the movie came out in the theaters. The new and improved version of the Mortal Kombat theme was a lot better than I expected. It has many techno tracks that are well put together. The Lunatic Calm track is very nice as well.Even there's a rock song "Brutality" which is a nice touch to the album.I have all 5 CD's from the MK score to this CD.If you like MK,techno, and the video games...GET THIS CD
Way Better Than The First!.......2004-06-13
This might just be the best soundtrack ever made. The Main Theme is absolutely fantastic! It's definatly better than the first one, it's faster, and really dancey. The 2nd song, "Fire" is also tons of fun. And then the 3rd one is fantastic! Oh gosh, what am I saying? Every single song on here is better than the last! With the exception of the Kill Bill: Volume 1 soundtrack, I don't think there's one finer. Even if you think you aren't into the Techno/Industrial type music, give it a shot. I've had a lot of my friends listen to it, and I've yet to have one say, "oh my gosh, what is that CRAP?" most of them ask if they can borrow it! I've recorded it off to tape for so many people I've lost count!
ANOTHER GREAT SOUNDTRACK.......2004-01-14
LIKE THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THE MOVIE THAT CAME BEFORE IT, IT OUTSHINES ITS MOVIE. THIS TIME AROUND, THERE'S A LITTLE LESS ROCK AND A LITTLE MORE TECHNO, BUT IT'S STILL A HIGHLY ENTERTAINING CD NONETHELESS. THE ONLY DISSAPOINTING SONG IS THE REMIX FOR THE MK THEME, WHICH IS THE VERY FIRST TRACK ON THIS CD. AMONG THE HIGHLIGHTS ARE KMFDM'S ''MEGALOMANIAC'', PITCHSHIFTER'S ''GENIUS'', CIRRUS' ''BACK ON A MISSION'', URBAN VOODOO'S ''BRUTALITY'', AND THE REMIX TO FACE TO FACE'S ''I WON'T LIE DOWN''. IT'S FUN TO LISTEN TO AND IT REALLY HAS GOOD MUSIC. TOO BAD THE MOVIE FOR THIS CD TURNED OUT TO BE A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT

2002's In Their Darkened Shrines may have launched Nile into metal history for groundbreaking, synapse-snapping releases--and into the record-buying consciousness while crystallizing the unit's long-building promise. Annihilation Of The Wicked is rife with epic riffs, crisp, intelligent arrangements and playing that's masterfully focused. Simply put, it is a continuation of their campaign. Karl Sanders demonstrates once more that he is among the most accomplished death metal guitarists, possessing as he does not only acumen but an all-too-rare knack for creating the almighty death rock groove (best demonstrated on the title track, "Lashed To The Slave Stick"). "Cast Down The Heretic" is an instant genre classic. --Jedd Beaudoin
Album Description
Annihilation of the Wicked marks the long-awaited return of one of extreme metal's most revered bands and teems with the blasting extremity and epic arrangements that have become NILE trademarks. Swarming guitars unleash razor sharp hooks, relentless drum blasts push human limits of endurance, and vicious vocals deliver strike after strike in a more concise, precise and balanced attack than ever before. On tour this Summer with Chimara

This Killer CD just destroys.......2007-06-29
This album just shreads completely. These dudes don't play. If you are new to Nile I would suggest giving this a few listens. Good lord, Nile is just retarded.
The Title track is just ridiculously killer. Whole thing is classic really. Wow... breathtaking CD.
Awesome CD.......2007-06-22

this cd just plain rocks
buy it right now
One of the best Death Metal albums.......2007-06-19
I love this album and I'm blown away by it every time I hear it. It is heavy, brutal, and I love the whole atmosphere with the ancient Egypt theme.
EXCELLENT!!!.......2007-06-14
I would give Nile 10 stars if I could. Karl Sanders and Dallas are death metals creme de la creme. Amazingly fast solos, complex rythyms, with inhumanely fast drumming is what you can expect on all their releases. They are definitely not for the faint of heart. What I think is really great is that these guys are a bit older in age than most metallers and they just flat out shred. Can't wait for a new album!
Lashed to the Slave yum yums.......2007-05-12
If you are a fan of death metal and do not listen to Nile...you are not a fan of death metal. This CD is pure gold, it does not get much better than this. Go buy all of Nile's records and listen to them nonstop, then you will understand the greatness that is before you!
So good, so very good!

Be Aware..........2007-07-03
I ordered a copy of this cd online from another seller and ended up getting what I am guessing is an unofficial reproduction of some sort on Old Metal Records. It sounds ok (slightly better than it did on cassette back in the day), but there are noticable differences in the layout and quality of the artwork. It is definately not the original Enigma release from 1989 or the upcoming remastered version from Old School Metal Records. I was ok with this because I just dumped it into iTunes anyway. You may not be. (I listen to my iPod 99.9% of the time these days.)
Just be careful and ask the seller what version they have before buying if this is something that would affect your decision to purchase.
All of that aside, this is great thrash. One of my all time favorites and essential to any metal fan's collection.
More Thrash,Less Speed Metal Then Know Your Enemy.......2005-08-14
Laaz Rockit rules, this is more of a thrash album rather then speed metal like Know Your Enemy. This album rules, they do Holiday In Cambodia which is a cover song and it just rules by Laaz Rockit.Fire In The Hole starts the album off and the song is awesome and then to end the album is The Omen which is such a perfect ballad song,it's kind of haunting.I suggest you find Annihilation Principle somewhere else where it's cheaper,if not it's worth paying that much for it.This album is different from City's Gonna Burn and Know Your Enemy,it's heavier and the singing is different. Please reissue all of Laaz Rockit's albums.

THE authority in non-"Big-4" thrash metal.......2005-07-24
This album has some of the best thrash metal you'll ever hear. The power's there, the speed is there, and the songs are even catchy to boot. My personal favorites include Shadow Company, a cover of the Dead Kennedys' Holiday in Cambodia, Chain of Fools, and the closer The Omen. This is a MUST for any thrash metal fan, but I'd suggest finding it on LP for about $10 rather than shelling whatever insane price is currently getting asked.

The first genuine death-metal band to sign to a major label, Morbid Angel could either be seen as pioneers of the blackest art, or the men who made the ultimate Faustian pact and sold their souls to the mainstream. Their seventh studio album provides proof that Florida's vilest have never let the pursuit of the dollar dull the edge of their scythe; Gateways to Annihilation appears on harder-than-thou imprint Earache Records, a sure sign that the Angel are taking no prisoners. The seven-minute post-intro opener, "Summoning Redemption," finds drummer Pete Sandoval delivering sheets of drum rolls beneath the doubled-headed assault of guitarists Trey Azagthoth and Erik Rutan. Beyond the caustic grind, Gateways is surprisingly inventive, as evidenced by the Eastern accents in Rutan's solos and classical-influenced passages. --Louis Pattison
Customer Reviews:
Excellent, Just Excellent .......2007-02-21
Morbid Angel are without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest and most legendary death metal bands of all time, and I love them to death. Their 2000 release "Gateways to Annihilation, the band's second album with vocalist/bassist Steve Tucker, and my first MA album I bought with Tucker, and I just love it, I can't get enough of it. Yeah I know this album may not be an all out speedfest like most of their previous outings, but this is STILL Morbid Angel all the way, and of course if you're an open minded metalhead like me, I guarantee you'll love this album. GTA still has a few fast tracks including "Opening of the Gates", and "God of the Foresaken" which both have some very fast intense drumming and crazy riffs. Other favorite songs on here including "Summoning Redemption", "To the Victor the Spoils", "Secured Limitations", "He Who Sleeps" and my personal favorite track "Ageless, Still I Am" which has some of the best guitar solos will stay stuck in your head for days and never get old. Steve Tucker's vocals are just dark and brutal, and like Comrade Ren "Altarboy of Madness" said you can actually understand what he is saying. He also has great bass lines that you can hear as well. Trey Azagthoth and Erik Rutan are an excellent guitar team. They both deliver lots of great riffs and awesome virtuoistic solos that will put a big smile on your face. Pete Sandoval's drumming may not be the fastest on here, but it's still great nonetheless, and ohhhh man, his double bass kicks are just absolutely god like.
Jeremy's song ratings:
1. Kawazu (0:35) - N/A
2. Summoning Redemption (7:16) - 5/5
3. Ageless, Still I Am (5:18) - 5/5
4. He Who Sleeps (4:04) - 5/5
5. To the Victor the Spoils (3:43) - 5/5
6. At One With Nothing (4:33) - 5/5
7. Opening of the Gates (5:15) - 5/5
8. Secured Limitations (4:39) - 5/5
9. Awakening (1:21) - N/A
10. I (3:50) - 5/5
11. God of the Foresaken (3:51) - 5/5
Like I said before, "Gateways to Annihilation" may not be an all out speedfest, but if you're an open minded metalhead, you'll love this album. Highly recommended to all Morbid Angel fans overall.
MORBID ANGEL RULES!!
Mediocre, unfortunately.......2007-02-12
It's mostly the same style as Formulas Fatal to the Flesh. However, the music simply isn't as good as even that album. The first song is pretty good, the rest are average.
Jumping the "modern-metal" band-wagon? Ha!! .......2006-11-26
That's a really funny joke, because Morbid Angel has NOTHING in common with nu-metal s*** like Korn, the Deftones, Slipknot, and SOAD. Sure, if you're expecting this to be a non-stop speedfest like Altars', then you might be disappointed but if you're open-minded, you'll surely love this.
"Gateways to Annihilation" is my first MA album with Steve Tucker behind the mic and abusing the bass, and even though I still prefer David Vincent, Steve is surely a great DM frontman. Thanks to the superb production, you can actually hear his bass, and his vocals are very good, you can actually understand what he's saying!! Trey Azagthoth and Erik Rutan are a great guitar duo, their unique styles and virtuous riffs and solos go together perfectly. Pete Sandoval, that's all I gotta say. For those of you complaining about the lack of speed, it seems like you only listened to "At One With Nothing," "Opening of the Gates," and "Secured Limitations." Everything else on here is really fast (except for the instrumentals "Kawazu" and "Awakening").
All killer, no filler. My favorites on here are "Summoning Redemption," "Ageless, Still I Am," "I," and "God of the Forsaken."
If you're a MA fan, pick this up now.
No Good.......2006-10-01
Morbid Angel is way past their prime on this one. In fact, even when they were in their prime they weren't that great. Sure, Alters... through Domination were good records but they were highly overrated. As for the Gateways record, its just plain boring. There aren't any songs on here that stand out or even get the listener interested. On top of that, there is a creative shift on this album in the form of slow and groove oriented sections in the music that seem tacked on and make it seem that Morbid Angel has jumped on the "modern metal" band wagon. If you are checking out Morbid Angel for the first time, listen to Abominations of Desolation (if you can find a copy), Altars of Madness, Blessed Are The Sick, Covenant, or Domination. These are decent enough records and a better representation of the band than what is on Gateways.
Very different...But good.......2006-07-17
This was my first Morbid Angel album. I was and still am impressed by it. Compared to most other death metal (including other Morbid Angel albums), this is very slow and has a kinda doomy, cold atmosphere to it. But they manage to pull off this new sound and they have created a very refreshing and intelligent album. This isn't an agressive, flat-out headbanging sort of CD. But if you're in the mood for something different and original, then give this a listen. It's a winner in my book.

Classic Old School Thrash Metal!!!.......2005-06-30
Evildead is one of the better Band from the golden age[late-eighties] of Thrash Metal,
They are not groundbreaking like Slayer or Metallica,
Not as Mighty as Anthrax or Megadeth,
but they really do some decent thrash metal,
With two members from Agent Steel,
So you can guess how they sounds like,
Some good Old American Thrash!
Annihilation of Civilization is their First Full Lenght,
They play some old school, FAST and Brutal Thrash Metal,
With some influence of Slayer!
Always play some Crushing Light Speed riff,
With some really Nice Headbangin' Moshing part,
Fast decent thrash metal guitar solo,
Vocal is not High Pitch like Slayer or Anthrax,
Think about Exodus or Sepultura vocals, some kind like that!
I make sure you need to buy a new speaker after hearing the whole album once,
because Evildead is always un-control-able CRUSHING and INTENSE,
This album will destroy your speaker/Hi-Fi and Broke your neck!!!
No Weak songs at all,
Each songs is standout, I can't pick one best,
Each songs worth your listen, Just dig the whole thing man!
But the song "Gone Shooting",
if not the best song in this album,
It should be the most impressive one!
The opening is some of the best thing I ever heard,
this song Just make me wanna jumping in my room till I hit the ceiling and fxxkin' die!
An Underrated Thrash Metal Album,
Deserve a 5 star!
My last word to describe this album......
underrated thrash classic.......1999-08-17
Evildead's ferocious thrash debut, kicks off with a sample from the classic "Evildead" horror flick..."why have you disturbed us? awakened us from our ancient slumber?...you will die!" Apparently Evildead the band, took those same words to heart, as they unleash a lethal barrage of massive thrash. "The Awakening", kicks things off in furious fashion, pelting the listened with adrenaline fueled riffs, supplied by former Agent Steel guitarist, Juan Garcia. The title track kicks in next, a solid mosh inducing track. Sounding like a cleaner Slayer, with a higher degree of technicality, and a decidedly hardcore-style vocal delivery, Evildead continues their assault with the best track on the disc, "Living Good". Fast, technical and with a midpaced break to die for (an awesome mosh break), "Living Good" is a prime example of what Evildead can do. This is an awesome thrash track, and practically makes the cd worth owning, its' that good a song. The rest of the cd rips along, with varying success, the best being "Gone Shooting" and the awesome "Holy Trials", and varying production, as some of the songs sound flat and quickly thrown together ("Unauthorized Exploitation", and the admittedly hilarious "B.O.H.I.C.A"). Released at the waning end of the thrash movement, "Annihilation Of Civilization" suffered from lack of promotion and no American record deal, and maybe from a band trying to get a product out a little too quickly. While not a ground breaking genre classic, Evildead's full length debut (it's hard to believe that the record company didn't add their "Rise Above" debut ep on this disc)is a prime choice of thrash mayhem and craftsmanship. Their follow up "The Underworld" is more of the same; vicious, piledriving thrash, with tons of energy and not too much originality. A very worth purchase.

the best of both blacks.......2007-07-05
Wow. I mean...wow. Take the best of Black Flag and crossbreed it with classic rock/metal a la Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Deep Purple and the like. Or Fu Manchu and "Eye For an Eye"-era C.O.C. having a chud baby? Whichever, this is definitely an "I wish I'd thought of that" album. These guys make the aforementioned hybrids sound completely seamless, kind of like dipping your fries in a chocolate frosty at Wendy's...no one knows why they go well together; they just do. Uh, anyway, I have no qualms with saying this is one of the best punk albums to come out in recent memory, right up there with The Observers' "So What's Left Now?" (which, if you don't have, you need to get immdediately...I think they've got it on this site) and Tear It Up's "Nothing to Nothing". Raw sound, heaps of attitude, and in-your-face riffs all over the place, this is your soundtrack to a night of skating, pounding cheap brew and watching Thrashin', Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Dazed & Confused. The music sounds like the album cover. Remember that friend you had growing up? You'd go sleep over at his house and you guys would get to watch gore and skin flicks on Cinemax because his parents were divorced and his dad didn't care what he did anymore, and he smoked cigarettes and beat up kids for their lunch money, and there were rumors that he went to jail when he was 12 and all that stuff? Well, when he grew up, he started a band, and it's called Annihilation Time.

Three Listens later..........2005-12-24
I think that this is the weakest punk band I have ever heard. I don't expect much from the "street punk" bands that I listen to, but just because the band happens to consist of chicks doesn't exempt them from not knowing how to make music. I would even go as far as saying Crass had more musical talent. That is saying something. What a waste. If you want some good female vox go for Vice Squad, Bikini Kill, or even F-Minus.
The only thing I liked was the layout. Colorful hair I suppose, and a neato picture on the waste of a cd.
THESE CHICKS KICK SOME SERIOUS @SS !!!.......2005-08-19
15'of unstoppable steetpunk worth every penny. The raw energy of this band is unbelievable and, together with The Wives I regard them as the best NY hardcore punk to date. The singer yells in an ear piercing, high pitched voice and the sound id excellent.Their next record find them with a new singer and a slight change in musical direction, but it's almost as good.
Above Average Streetpunk.......2005-07-06
Technically, the music on here sucks, but are there really any streetpunk bands with amazing musical talent? Me, I like this band, at least on this cd. Sure, the songs are extremely short, and the lyrics here aren't great, but streetpunk was never supposed to be really in-depth. Besides, I think we can all relate to songs like "Hip Hop Kids" or "Damaged Goods". All in all, a good addition to any streetpunk collection.
IHATEPOSERS, ANTIFLAG, AND CRASS.......2005-05-20
DEVOTCHKAS ARE THE BEST ALL GIRL BAND EVER. THEY ARE KINDA LIKE BANNER OF HOPE IF U HAVE HEARD OF THEM. ANYWAY. THIS CD IS WAYYY BETTER THAT THEIR OTHER ONE. ALSO IF U ARE LOOKING TO SEE THEM LIVE THEY BROKE UP ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO.

nothing too out of the ordinary here.
weak lyrics, same 3 power chords, big spikey hair, no musical talent... everything a street punk band should be.

A punk-rock masterpeace from an almost unheard of band. The Hollow Points have a sound similer to pennywise with a vocalist who's voice i would say is one of the best in punk-rock today . Its generic but not in a pop or hardcore way. its what punk should sound like. A total must for punk fans along with their first hard to find release, Bullet Holes in City Walls.

Through The Eyes Of The Dead are one of the most talentless metalcore bands you're likely to hear. They do a bit of the generic melodic death metal riffing, with a bit of a heavier death metal sound, and a hardcore element, but they just do it all so badly, the songwriting is so amazingly weak, I don't understand why anyone would ever choose to listen to this band when there's so many similar ones around, 90% of which are significantly better. I don't know why anyone signed them. I don't know why they even bother playing music.
I don't usually enjoy splits but..........2005-07-17
I don't usually enjoy splits but I'll make an exception here as its as this is better than most.
The Knife Trade probably should get the nod for the coolest intro track ever for the opener on their half of the album. In all honestly though, The Knife Trade really aren't anything you haven't heard before but for what they do, they do very well. The guitar work is impressive and I love the arpeggio sweeps and the dabbling in what sounds like some keyboard/synth work but I think the The Knife Trade would be much better off avoiding the clean vocals that they used in a few of the tracks. They just don't fit. Highlight track for The Knife Trade's half of the split would be "Off With Their Heads."
Through The Eyes Of The Dead, who recently inked a deal with Prosthetic Records, have become a pretty mighty force in the independent music scene and they don't even have a proper full length out yet, a testament probably to where this band is going in the near future. Nevertheless, it appears that TTEOTD are experimenting more with their death metal influence more than anything here. The material is far more technical than that of their "Scars Of Ages" EP and the drumming is just flat out awesome. They still like to use their samples as we've got a clip from "From Hell" and I believe "American Psycho" as the other. I still can't help but think that TTEOTD are probably holding back some better material for their full length rather than unleashing it on the split though. Sounds like a warm up to me. "Abyssal Creation" serves as the highlight track on TTEOTD's half of the release.

Potential nerve damage.......2007-05-14
Years ago there were albums of music to break your lease by. This one outdoes them all. It consists of the most godawful din masquerqding as music. I think I'll wait for their acoustic album.
A great hardcore album.......2005-12-30
I've been a big fan of MPB for awhile now, and it only felt right to give one of my favorite albums a review.
Our Lady of Annihiliation has a great sound. There isn't a song on here that I don't like listening to. It's aggressive, in-your-face hardcore. Great messages exist throughout the album, a song that shows this is "It Runs In The Blood."
If you liked Nothing In Vain, you will more than likely love this album. I actually think despite it being slightly more polished than Nothing In Vain, it sounds stronger and more powerful.
I also like the hidden tracks with the radio interviews/band questions/etc., they even do a grindcore bit at the very end with Rob's and Rachel's pit bulls as vocals. It's humorously good.
My four favorite tracks: The Great Red Shift, Collusionist, Your Picture Hung Itself, It Runs In The Blood
Great Band, great album.......2005-11-18
This album is for anyone who likes quality hardcore with a few metal influences here and there. Don't listen to anyone else - this album is gold. Great vocals, great drumming, great riffs. With great sing-alongs like "SAVE YOUR LOVE", "WHAT WOULD YOU DIE FOR?" and "NO GUTS....NO GLORY" this album kicks ass. Oh, and great cover too...
Potential: But needs work........2005-10-20
MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD - Our Lady of Annihilation
-
I had this CD for about a year and I still really can't get into it. Upon hearing "The Great Red Shift" and "Your Picture Hung Itself" I was quite impressed and picked up the album. Sadly there are only a few real gems... The band has a lot of potential but this album is lacking...
One, It is too short! Truthfully I don't mind short albums - but they have to be fulfilling. (i.e. Hot Damn!! - By Every Time I Die) This album however, just didn't satisfy.
Two, Production is too muddy for my taste....
Three, Musically they can suffice, but lets be honest, unless their packing some talent I haven't heard yet heard, they really don't stand out musically.
I'm still looking forward to hearing their new album, which just came out. Hopefully they have improved on what they were aiming for.
