LINOMA: A Nebraska Compilation
The Note, April, 1994
After more than a year in the works, -ismist Recordings is ready to release LINOMA: A Nebraska Compilation. What took so long? "Everything," says executive producer Dan Schlissel. "Twenty different bans and four artists to organize. We did everything one step at a time." Eric Medley also handled production duties, in addition to engineering. All tracks were edited and mastered at Lincoln's Studio Q. Ron Albertson, drummer for Mercy Rule, created the front cover, and Sideshow's Paul Tisdale did the back cover. The disc features new and previously released material by the following: Urethra Franklin, the Millions, Rosebud, Middle Monkey, Mousetrap, Todd Grant, Clarke County, Frontier Trust, Young Executives, Simon Joyner, Roosevelt Franklin, Sideshow, Greg Markel, the Return, Such Sweet Thunder, For Against, Yardapes, Bonechina, Mercy Rule and Ritual Device.

Album Description
About the same time the -ismist Recordings label started (August 1992), we (booking God, David Lee Rabe, local underground bar owner (of Duffy's) Reg McMeen, and ismist head honcho, Dan Schlissel) were sitting around talking about the local scene, specifically that of Eastern Nebraska over the last few years. We had come to the conclusion that there wasn't anything that had been definitive of the scene as a whole done in quite some time (since the 1988 Broadsides cassette compilation). Thus sprang LINOMA. So anyway, we started in November, 1992, slightly after the release of Such Sweet Thunder's CD, REDNECK. It took a 1 & 1/2 years to complete. The styles and bands are way too disparate to even try and summarize. A quick try, from singer-sogwriter to harsh underground rock to pure pop to the best music you've ever heard collectively.
