1 out of 5 stars Be aware, Roll over is a joke.......2007-03-29

I have been with Cingular 400 Roll over plans for 3 years now. Just found out from the service rep that, in their system, my plan IS so-called National 400 for 40 bucks / month. No RollOver!

Now, why did I even sign up for that the plan without RollOver while at the same time, I also signed up for the promotional tmobile 1000 national whenever (plus unlimited nights and weekends).

after google some related articles and found other users and forums stating their roll over plans weren't rolling either.

final thought - between the 2 carriers, cingular drops more calls than tmobile, by far!

Those who want Cingular service-it is interesting..it start the billing cycle 2nd of the month. That is crazy. if you activate on the 29th of month, like I did, you are going to end up paying the entire monthly payment with out actually using the phone that month. ATT used to do this..So beware....

5 out of 5 stars Good Reception!.......2006-05-10

I have been a Cingular customer for four years now, and am extremely satisfied with their service. When I have called customer service, my requests have been handled promptly. And, more importantly to me, I never have dropped calls! My friends, who have Sprint and Verizon Wireless, are always complaining that they can't talk on their phones in certain places because they disconnect. In my four years of service, I've maybe had two dropped calls at the most.

1 out of 5 stars very bad customer service.......2005-12-11

Cingular service is very bad. they don't take ownership of what they provide. Somehow i got subscribed to some webpage. Since then, i was recieving text messages from this website one a day. I thought it was a marketing thingy and kept deleting the message (as i didn;t know how to avoid getting those weird test messages).
Finally on my monthly bill, i noticed that i was charged by cingular for every test message i recieved. Till today, those guys couldn't figure out why i got those message, but they stick to the stand that since i recieved them, i need to pay for them. It was so absurd, and absolutely none of the customer service people could help me. I was forced to pay for that service. I don;t know what is happening to them. They used to have a good reliable customer service base, now i guess they have grown too big and don't care a dime about small individual customer like me, as i am one amongst their millions of customers..
what a shame, i told them they will lose me as their customer soon, but for that, their answer was...'thanks for being a loyal customer till now', felt like they should showed me the exit door. Since there was no 'ZERO' star in the rating, i am forced to give them one star. But be aware of their lose canon customer service before you go ahead with their plans.

1 out of 5 stars Cingular does not stand by their products, services and information.......2005-09-09

When I first joined, I called customer service about roaming. They informed me that if my phone said "ROAM", then I was roaming, otherwise I was not.

Recently I had large roaming charges, although my phone never said "ROAM". Cingular refused to remove any of the charges for the following reason (in an email):

"We see that all the charges applied to your account are valid charges. The actual rates charged will be determined by the information contained in our billing system, not based on the phone's display. Hence, we would not be able to apply any credits against the roaming charges. "

We went back and forth several times, but Cingular stuck by their reasoning. All they did was thank me for my loyalty and wrote a half page marketing blurb about how they are a top service provider and how I can upgrade my phone and service. Unbelievable.

Do not go with Cingular. In the event you love them or one of the phones they offer, then first ask yourself several questions.

1. How will you exactly know when you are roaming?
2. How will you know if information provided by Cingular is accurate?
3. Do you want to buy Cingular phones that Cingular will not stand by?
4. Are you ready to understand billing software and systems?
5. Are you ready to deal with a company who can't take responsibility for products, services and information it provides?

Don't waste your time with Cingular.
