    Before you ever hit the car lot you need to be prepared. This book is a "gotta have". The other books you need are Consumers Reports books and the NADA price guides. Having the facts and details readily at hand can save you a ton of cash and keep you from ground into hamburger by the car salesmen. This also goes for buying from private parties. Locked into this is using CARFAX or a related on line car history check. If you know the history of the car can save you a lot GRIEF. Don't be rushed into buying anything. Take your time and most of all don't put up with the high pressure sales tactics of car salesmen or pushy owners.

          I was very disappointed with this book. It was severely lacking in information and seemed inaccurate as far as values. For example, I checked for the current market value of my turbodiesel Dodge Ram, but it wasn't even in there! It only had the base Rams, and the closest to my truck I could find was valued at half of what Blue Book values my truck as. The additional options is often not listed, and that is what gives the accurate values of a vehicle. Very limited, innaccurate information. You do better just going to kbb.com.
