Gateway is the Worst Company I have ever encountered in my life
My Niece's Lemonade stand runs more efficent and more responsible and she is 9 I have been lied to by everyone one i have spoken to over the all important Recovery Disk.. I had it One week got a nasty virus and thought Ok pop it in fix and move on... NOPE it killed the recovery partion and is as of right now sitting in the box since Thanksgiving I called emailed chatted... and i was told on November 25 5 to 7 days December 23 I call again Oh we are rushing it out to you here is the the number for the rush.. I asked what do i do with this number your giving me and the reply was Im not sure!! It is now January 13 and I sit and wait for the disk which i was told was shipped on the January 10th i was then told if i didnt get it by NEXT week to call back !!... HELLO ever hear of FED EX this could have been resolved On November 26 they are so bad that the tech and a sales supervisor ( who then tried to sell me upgrades on a laptop that doesnt work) told me that both people lied to me earlier and that they will get to the bottom of this. Right.... So take my advice this COW does not Moo and the company should be put out to Pasture. I knew i should have gone with my Old Reliable HP ( who by the way would have sent me a BRAND NEW LAPTOP overnighted next day) They Should have recalled the computers from the stores and fixed the bad disks they sent with them.... RUN away from this Gateway to Lies or you too will be sucked into the waiting games

Oh all they said was sorry after 2 months of not using my laptop... I WANT JUSTICE

1 out of 5 stars GATEWAY CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS.......2005-11-18

I recently purchased this notebook computer from one of Gateway's retailers. What a nice looking computer. Its been a month and a half, and it makes a great paper weight. A very expensive paper weight.
I am a computer technician, so most software and minor hardware problems I could easily fix. There is no guarantee in life, and luckily my retailer is perfectly willing to take the system back, of course, Gateway will not. I have spend countless hours on the phone with Gateway tech support, waiting only for them to send me a drivers and applications recovery cd. My only problem was a minor driver problem, which can easily be fixed. since I was not able to make a recovery cd myself, as its on the hard drive, and my dvd burner drivers were the problem. I was able to convince them to send me a new one, with no fee, luckily. Its now been several weeks. I called back a few days ago to find out where my cd was, since I expected a "reputable" company like Gateway to send me this cd rush delivery. after speaking to 4 different techs, who continually lied to me, i found out that there is a backorder of these recovery dvds, and that other people have been waiting 3 weeks longer than I have. I still have no answer as to when I am to expect my drivers. and of course, they do not put them online.

Gateway, Im sure, is fine if their product works, but dont expect to get any help from them. read all of the horrible reviews on the internet of gateway support. they'll all agree with me and tell some interesting stories of how they were also mistreated (to say the least) by Gateway's customer service agents.
