"Judy can pat the bunny. Now YOU pat the bunny." Sound familiar? Pat the Bunny is a part of childhood, as soothing as cocoa and animal crackers. Dorothy Kunhardt's interactive book for babies and toddlers was one of the first of its kind when it was published in 1940, and it has since sold over six million copies. We pat the soft fur of the bunny, play peek-a-boo, look in the mirror, and then do it all over again. (And again and again and again.) After you Pat the Bunny with your baby, why not Pat the Cat and Pat the Dog? These two sequels were written by Edith Kunhardt, the daughter of the author of the original book. Both use the same tried-and-true Pat the Bunny format: sturdy cardboard pages with eight activities that wee ones can explore, from sniffing some brownies, to squeaking a teddy bear, to unfastening Grandma's tennis shoe. The simple line drawings and pastel colors don't do much for adults, but somehow they are just right for babies. This boxed set is a fine choice for a baby gift or first birthday present, and a lifesaver on a long car trip. (Baby to preschool) --Marcie Bovetz
Book Description
The original classic touch and feel book that has been entertaining babies for over 60 years.
Customer Reviews:
my daughter likes this one better than the modern versions.......2007-06-09
My 2 year old daughter has so many books which incorporate different textures to touch and flaps to lift and look underneath. When her Grandad gave her this book I thought that I would appreciate it more than her because of the sentimental value of it being such an old book. I thought my daughter would be less interested because it doesn't have the flashy colourful pictures of her more modern books.
I was so wrong. Out of all her touch and feel books, it is repeatedly this one that she looks for in her book box.
I think the difference with this book, and no doubt why it has been loved by so many generations, is that my daughter doesn't just touch - she actively joins in a whole range of activities with the children in the story. She strokes the bunny, plays peek-a-boo, smells the (very perfumed!) flowers, reads the book, looks in the mirror, and her favourites - stroking Daddy's scratchy face and putting on Mummy's ring. It is a story about child's play and a child's view of the world, and the not so flashy drawings do in fact add to that.
Kids love it!.......2007-06-08
Now there are a bunch of touch/feel books out there, so they may be more appealing. I DO know that, when our kids were little (long ago), this was one of the few out there and it was universally loved by them and many of their friends. That said, I opt to send what I KNOW to be a home run to kids now.
A must . . ........2007-05-14
This unpretentious little book is a must for every new baby. It is so simple and so accessible to the baby that it never fails to become the baby's first favorite. Buy it - the baby will love it.
Both my children loved this book.......2007-04-26
My three year old still reads his copy that he got when he was a baby. My second baby received one when she was 8 months and also loves it. I just wish they were more sturdy. It's a wonderful book but my kids are a bit rough and have torn it to shreds. They have other touch and feel/lift the flap books that are much more sturdy. I think they should keep the storyline but re-design the construction.
Son shows no interest.......2007-04-26
Got this book for my son when he was about 11 months old. He was mildly interested the first couple of times but, has shown little to no interest since. I should have had him check out a copy in a book store first. The artwork seems a bit dated and the colors lacks any vibrancy (is that a word?).

a favorite, but flaps rip off very easily.......2007-06-13
My 15 month-old daughter LOVES this book, it's definitely one of her top five favorites these days. The only thing is that within two weeks she's managed to rip off most of the flaps. I've glued and reglued them, but it's just not staying together. She has many books with flaps and this is the only one she's able to take apart.
Multiple flaps.......2007-06-13
I don't care for this as much as some other flap books because it has smaller flaps and more than one on a page. The flaps are a little easier to tear since my baby can get a better hold of them
Tear Alert.......2007-06-11
This book is very cute, however, the flaps tear very easily. My little one had the flaps gone before I could blink. He loves reading and turning pages, if you have a hands on child, this may not be the book for you.
Watch the flaps.......2007-06-08
This book lasted about one minute with my 18 month niece. She opened it, took hold of the flap and it was immediately torn off. I would not have purchased this had I known how flimsy the flaps were.
great book..........2007-05-16
We've been reading this book to our one year old son since he was born and he loves it. Around six months, he started flipping through the book and pulling on the flaps. The book is awesome but the flaps come off too easily. I guess you can't avoid that... We've reinforced all the flaps with tape and now they are staying on.

Customer Reviews:
Only the brave need to do the animal sounds..........2007-06-05
Another Eric Carle classic, also best in board book for those young "readers" who still like to put their reading material in their mouths. This book is best when read aloud by a grandparent or other visitor unfamiliar with text ~ they start out making all the animal noises, but wait for it... guaranteed they will be flumoxed by the time they hit the flamingoes fluting!!! Provides an excellent laugh for overtired new parents.
Polar Bear exceptional.......2007-05-17
We liked this book for the colorful illustrations and the easy to memorize word patterns.
my son likes it!.......2007-03-16
My son likes it verey much although he's not as crazy as he saw "brown bear". The boa constrictor looks a little scary.
Great BOok.......2007-01-26
It has words in it a lil to over the top for lil ones but my son that is 14months doesn't seem to mind! He loves it! A great book! 5 stars!
My 9 month old loves this book!.......2006-10-05
I read many board books to my son and the first time I read this to him, he couldn't get enough! We haven't bought Brown Bear yet, but certainly do that after seeing his reaction to this book.
He follows each page and reaches out to "feel" the textures of the graphics of the animals. I think the illustrations are perfect for his age and really keep him captivated!
I am buying duplicates now so we'll never go without!

Book Description
Violet, a very curious young mouse, invites babies and toddlers into her home to explore, room by room, her favorite things. Delightfully written rhythmic verse and engaging illustrations lead children to discover the feel of objects that surround them in their everyday world. From touching Violet's fluffy poodle to joining her as she puts sticky toothpaste on her brush, children will want to visit Violet's House time and time again.
Customer Reviews:
My 10-month-old loves this book..........2007-07-01
My 10-month-book loves all books that are touch-and-feel, as most babies this age who are exploring their world with their hands. Bold, colorful images....great textures on each page. The only thing I am not crazy about is the rhymes...some seem a little like the author is "stretching it." Not a reading book, really, anyway, seeing as my daughter prefers to thumb through it herself and marvel at all there is to see and feel on each new page.
Wonderful Book.......2007-06-17
I'll admit I wasn't super excited when we got this book--I thought that it looked sort of cheaply thrown together, but what do I know? This is my daughter's favorite book of all time and she "reads" it all the time! She loves the different textures, possibly because it is so different from other Touch and Feel books. She also loves the pleasant rhyme that carries you from page to page. I only wish that Baby Einstein would come out with more like this one!
My son loves this book!.......2007-05-31
I bought this book for my 9 month old son who is now 11 months and loves it more everyday. This is the one book he carries around with him around the house and gets really upset if I put it up. He loves touching everything in it and tugging on Violet's apron. BTW, the toothpaste doesn't smell like anything in my book either
.
Great book.......2007-05-13
This is one of the best touch-and-feel books I've come across for my kids. It's a giant book, great for reading with more than one kid and the textures are unique (not everything is that fuzzy, fake-fur stuff). The toothpaste is a scratch-and-sniff and they use a real sponge on the kithen page! Great, simple illustrations and a great rhyming story. You'll not be disappointed with this book! Though, I would say don't give it to a very small child who is more apt to chew the pages rather than look at it.
The Einstein Illustrations are too odd.......2007-04-21
I was so excited to get this book, but my 11 month old gave it a less than enthusiastic review. She looks away from this book quite a bit when I read it to her. Sometimes she even pushes it away and reaches for other books. I think is the very stylized way the pictures are rendered. It's too hard for her baby brain to figure out WTH she is looking at. So she prefers to "read" books where the images are a little more obvious, i.e. the monkey actually looks like a monkey.

Bruce Goldstein's SENSATION AND PERCEPTION, the best-seller which has helped over 150,000 students understand the ties between how we sense the world and how the body interprets these senses, is now in a brilliant full-color Seventh Edition. Book Description
Hailed as a major new talent in paranormal romance, Nalini Singh takes us deeper into the world of the Psy and the changelings in her latest extraordinary novel, where a gifted woman sees passion in her future-a passion that is absolutely forbidden by her kind... Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous-aching need...exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her. Changeling Vaughn D'Angelo can take either man or jaguar form, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar's instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith's sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced-and keep her from Vaughn...
Customer Reviews:
Could have been better. I wanted more heat!!!.......2007-06-26
I loved the first installment in this series, "Slave to sensation". I was hopeing the second book would be hotter, sexier and the chemestry more intense. Unfortunatly I was disappointed. Not even the action grabbed me. It just left me wanting...
As the intensity of Vaughn's feelings were believable. Faith left me feeling nothing. She is an emotionless "Psy", but even after disconnecting from the all so consuming PsyNet she was still not what I hoped she would be. After reading "Slave to sensation", I wanted this book to be more intense. I hoped and hoped for some heat and action but it never fully got there.
I still love this new world. I will read the third installment but I hope Judd and Brenna's story will heat up and not disappoint.
Visions of Heat Rocks!.......2007-06-20
Visions of Heat (The Psy-Changeling Series, Book 2) Rocks! I love this series and have already ordered Caressed by Ice, Book 3! I want a Changeling for my very own!
Visions of Heat.......2007-06-08
Nalini Singh's book kept going over the same things until I felt like I was reading filler. The book still hooked me and the premise was very good. Wish she'd trim down on the repetition, but I read Book 1 and am looking forward to Book 3.
wow, wow, wow.......2007-05-25
These books are hot. I love changeling stories. The guys in these books are so strong, hot, dominate and love their women completely! They are super protective and willing to do what it takes to make sure they are kept safe. I won't go into detail about the story itself because everyone else has. I'll just say that I cannot wait until the next book comes out. This is a series i can see myself following for years. I love the fact that the women in these books are experiencing everything emotional for the first time and how their men react to it. Ahh to have a man like that. Hmmm. Oh well my hubby is pretty darn great so i can't complain. He's human so I just keep loving him and dream on in all the great books i read.
A keeper.......2007-05-13
Excellent second enstallment in a fantastic series. Like the first book, this is a definite keeper.

Customer Reviews:
disappointing read.......2007-06-02
One story was okay but the rest were just blah. I was very anticipatory about this book and then was extremely disappointed when I got it.
I've read better..........2007-05-22
This is more something to read if you have some time to kill. I bought the book only for MJD and Emma Holly's contributions, which were good. The others didn't deliver, but then I didn't expect them to. They weren't horrible, but I've read better.
demon's unsatisfaction more like it.......2007-05-14
very boring stories.. did not capture my interest at all
Witches,Demons and Angels oh my!.......2007-05-07
Whether you like the wonderful light-hearted humor of MaryJanice Davidson, or the sensual Demon World of Emma Holly's Demon novels. This book has a unique take on the genre. I love anything be Emma Holly, and I am looking forward to her sequel to The Prince of Ice.
I found myself cheering for both the heroines and heroes each tugged at my heart because of their dilemnas.
Angels and Halo's is decidedly dark and sad,yet triumphant.
The Angel and the Hellraiser made me wonder who knew how to live? I could actually see this one becoming a larger story.
A well put together anthology with twist and turns nothin is what you think that has been done before.
More like 4 1/2 stars...........2007-04-27
Four talented authors offer up some unusual tales in DEMON'S DELIGHT!
MaryJanice Davidson opens up this anthology with Witch Way. For generations, the Goodmans and the de Meres have fought. Each generation ends in the death of a Goodman and a de Mere. Chris Mere is fed up with it and has no intention of dying nor does he intend to kill Rhea Goodman. Instead, he seeks a truce so that he can continue battling demons without the family legacy haunting him. Will Rhea agree with this rhyming magic user?
Now this is the type of MaryJanice Davidson story that I love! The sparks fly immediately between Rhea and Chris in the hilarious fashion I've come to expect and love from Ms. Davidson. The rhymes are absolutely adorable, and Rhea's reaction to them is so true to life. I had feared that MaryJanice Davidson's female heroines were starting to sound too similar but Rhea is a breath of fresh air. Yes, she is snarky as one would expect from any story by Ms. Davidson, but hearing the story from Chris' perspective really helped the storyline progress. What a fun story!
Street Corners and Halos by Catherine Spangler is a much darker story, perhaps the darkest one in the anthology. Rachel Stryker is barely going through the motions of life, getting the blood sustenance she needs as a vampire by posing as a prostitute. Can the angel Gabriel revive Rachel's zest for life?
Catherine Spangler took some chances with this one... and boy, did it ever work! Rachel's poignant story made this otherwise cold character seem heartbreakingly real. The scenes with the cat, Gertie, were an adorable touch and perhaps my favorite ones as they really humanized Rachel, despite all of her efforts to remain distant. Kudos to Catherine Spangler for turning such a bleak set of circumstances into an absolutely beautiful story!
Emma Holly takes readers into her demon world in The Demon's Angel. Dr. Khira Forette's genetic research has netted her an invitation to speak to one of the esteemed ministers, but she never expected to speak directly to the emperor's minister of science! Soon, this Yama finds herself kidnapping human Harry Wirth. But what happens when her experiment turns towards love?
Emma Holly's alternate Victorian universe featuring the Yama is splendidly developed! As with any story by Emma Holly, one can expect some very steamy scenes but Ms. Holly did not sacrifice the story in any way. Instead, each scene advances the plot along and there is a very satisfying twist at the end. My only reservation with this story is that the attraction seemed a bit too quick for my tastes but Ms. Holly does provide the reader with a very credible reason to explain the instant sparks.
Angel and the Hellraiser by Vickie Taylor focuses on daredevil Zane Halvorson. Zane performs outrageous aerial stunts with seemingly no regard for his life and angel Rosemary D'Amica is more than frustrated. Rosemary is horrified to find herself in human form, but will Zane win her over?
Vickie Taylor delivered quite the unexpected twist with Angel and the Hellraiser. While not quite what I expected from the author who made gargoyles sexy, Angel and the Hellraiser certainly took a new approach to the issue of angels! Rosemary and Zane were a bit difficult to like at first but as the story progressed, their attitudes made sense. Angel and the Hellraiser was perhaps the hardest story for me to sit down and read, but once I had finished it, I also felt it was the one of the most satisfying of the stories.
DEMON'S DELIGHT is a very well done anthology. Each author adds her own take to the theme with vastly different but awesome results. DEMON'S DELIGHT is without a doubt a keeper for this reviewer. Fans of paranormal romance who want something out of the ordinary and a bit dangerous and edgy will appreciate DEMON'S DELIGHT.

Oh, the wonderful things Mr. Brown can do! In this "Book of Wonderful Noises," Mr. Brown struts his stuff, as he imitates everything from popping corks to horse feet ("pop pop pop pop" and "klopp klopp klopp," respectively) while inviting everyone to join him in the fun. Young readers who are still learning their sounds and letters will get a wacky workout as they follow along with the very serious-looking, squinty-eyed Mr. Brown. Whether it's eggs frying in a pan or a hippo chewing gum, the skillful Mr. Brown just keeps topping himself, with a "sizzle sizzle" or a "grum grum grum." "Mr. Brown is so smart he can even do this: he can even make a noise like a goldfish kiss!... pip!" As usual, the words and pictures of Dr. Seuss make reading (and making all sorts of funny noises) impossible to resist. Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? will stay fresh through many a giggling reading. --Paul Hughes
Book Description

Mr. Brown Can Moo.......2007-06-13
Fun story for kids with great sounds and opportunities for them to try making them. Board book is not as complete as the original hard back version. But if you are looking for this title in a compact size with pages that kids can't tear, it's a winner.
Made my 7 month old daughter laugh.......2007-05-10
I read this to my 7 month old daughter, and believe it or not she loved it. All those funny sounds, she laughed at quite a few of them. What a great book, simple and entertaining.
I love this book.......2007-04-17
The rhymes are so fun to read. I think I enjoy it more than my son!
great and entertaining.......2007-04-11
It's fun to make the sounds listed in the books and get your child to join in.
Great For All, Especially For Dads and Grandads........2007-03-14
Let's be honest. If an alien were to land and ask how to tell the difference between fathers and mothers, telling it that "The fathers are the ones making the sound effects" would be a good rule of thumb. Dr. Seuss's "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" is a book length excuse to make funny noises with your kid.
The rhymes are as good as one would expect of Seuss, and the flow of the verse is smooth and catchy. What sets this apart, though, are the wonderful noises. Roosters cock-a-doodle-doo, bees buzz, and eggs sizzle. Shoes squeak, clocks tick, and goldfish kiss. The rhymes build one upon the other, and by the end, the reader is left with a stream of sounds that is a challenge to get out in one breath. This was a bedtime favorite for years at our house.
In addition to being fun to read, the book is a wonderful way for pre-readers to participate. The sound effects are simple enough for a young mouth to form, and you can't really get a "blurp blurp" wrong. The text leading up to the sounds always offers just enough of a prompt for even a very young child to know what comes next. I'm convinced that showing kids how fun books like this can be helps prime them to want be readers in their own right.
So get this one for a new father or grandfather. You won't be giving paper and ink, but priceless memories.

Start of a great series.......2007-05-18
This is the first book in a series by Eileen Wilks. She wrote a novella that appears in Lover Beware that has the same two lead characters but otherwise is a totally different story. If you've read the novella, it is sort of disorienting to read the books in the series. Read them in order. Each book stands alone but the characters are richer when they develop over time. Wilks has a very interesting take on werewolves and has put a lot of thought into the structure of their society. It is a very romantic book. The relationship between Lily and Rule is very realistic. It's not quite your usual they hate each other, they have sex, they're madly in love plot. In this book, they need each other but they're not really sure they can stand to be together. I am really looking forward to the fourth book. One of my favorite things about the series is that the characters are moving from book to book. I always want more of a good character so I enjoy series that feature the same characters in multiple books.
Lily and Rule book 1.......2007-04-05
While waiting for some of my favorite authors to publish new books, I stumbled across "Tempting Danger" by Eileen Wilks. I love the intriguing cover art, and the summary looked promising.
It exceeded my expectations. The story of Detective Lily Yu and werewolf Prince Rule Turner is a fantastic one. When a man ends up dead, and a werewolf is the suspect, its up to Lily Yu to solve the case. (And up to Rule Turner to keep her from pointing fingers in his direction.)
The chemistry between Lily and Rule is definitely there. Eileen Wilks does a fabulous job of creating the tension. I couldn't put it down! Even better, I wasn't able to solve the mystery before Lily or Rule, which gives this book major points. I hate books where I figure out the answers before the main characters. Plus as soon as I finished, I was eager for more. I fully recommend this book, and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Next is Mortal Danger (Berkley Sensation) followed by Blood Lines (Berkley Sensation).
Not bad, not brill.......2007-03-26
"Tempting Danger" is the first book I've read by Eileen Wilks and although interesting it didn't entirely hit the spot for me.
Lily Yu is a detective investigating a murder that appears to have been committed by a werewolf. Werewolves (lupi) have only recently been accorded some rights; previously they were hunted and killed by the police. However they are still regarded with suspicion and this death doesn't help. It looks like the prime suspect is Rule Turner, the prince of the local werewolf clan, and Lily goes to interview him. However she soon realises that the murder didn't happen as it seems on the surface and that there is some kind of connection between her and Rule. The more they investigate together the more is uncovered - someone in the police department working against them, suspicions amongst the lupi, mistrust of Lily as she seems close to a lupus, an evil female deity trying to take over the world, that kind of thing.
Although billed as a romance in some ways this book wasn't too romantic - the lead characters don't exactly choose to have their relationship and much more attention is paid to the murder and sorcery plot. It's written fairly well and I liked the characters, particularly Lily's grandmother, and the differences between the lupus and human social mores were interesting, but the overall story wasn't enough to completely carry me away into the plot. The big fight at the end was over surprisingly quickly and that was the only real taste of action in the story - the novel was more focused on investigation and plotting. The magical world it was set in had that slight drawback that too many other urban fantasies seem to have these days - peopling the world with every possible type of non-human creature like werewolves, gnomes, sorcerers, banshees, witches, goddesses and the like; the only thing missing in this story seemed to be vampires. It was a pleasant enough read but not exciting enough to entice me to buy another book by this author.
Glad I gave it a try!.......2007-03-21
I thought it was a great story with very interesting characters. Lily is an Asian-American Detective and Rule is the "Prince" of the local werewolf tribe. They're brought together to solve a murder that seems to be caused by a group trying to frame Rule and ultimately destroy all werewolves. Rule and Lily are actually "Chosen." Apparently this is something that rarely happens in the werewolf community, where the "Lady" herself chooses mates for each other.
The story is a sweet romance with lots of action to boot. My only complant was that I found a few slow parts that were difficult to follow what they were talking about.
The Beginning of Lily and Rule.......2007-02-22
This is the start of Lily and Rule and I loved it. I think Wilks' worldbuilding and Lupi culture is unique and fresh and fascinating.
Lily is a homicide cop, a woman and she's got a secret - she's a sensitive. Rule Turner is a skirt chasing werewolf prince. When they meet it's instant attraction but I loved that Wilks makes us wait for the eventual consummation and didn't have Lily just accept her chosen status immediately.
The mystery, which unfolds further through the next two books, is intriguing and well done as is the action and the chemistry is incredible.
I love it when fated mate stories are handled right, Wilks has done that and leaves me wanting more.

Slave to Sensation (The Psy-Changelings Series, Book 1) (Berkley Sensation).......2007-06-02
I just decided to try this new series and found Volume 1 to start with. It's a very odd/strange/weird premise. Yet I really did like it. I'm going to try reading Vol. 2 and determine is this will become one of my new favorite authors.
Sci-Fi Thriller with a little romance.......2007-05-21
What an excellent book. I could not put this book down!! Singh wrote a seamless thriller, spiced with a love story. Usually, I like more romance, but this book kept me interested. Singh is even better than Christine Feehan in writing these animal/men. The Leopard came through in every action, which made me believe the characters all the more. This book is highly recommended and I can't wait to read more from Singh.
cheers for Nalini Singh !!!!!.......2007-04-22
I had never heard of this author so i was a little weary, but when I picked this book up I never let it down.
What a great surprise.. the characters are loveable and the hero is "yummy".
I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read her other book.
If your a christine feehan fan, go for it.
you wont be sorry!!!
A truly original plot.......2007-04-15
Such an intricate world, so cleverly plotted. I absoloutly loved this book. The idea of the Changlings and PSI races and the creating of Silence. Finally a paranormal without the tiresome vampires. Also, no whiny should I use my powers or not crap. The hero and heroines act with dignity and honor. This is not a book to borrow, you will not want to give it back.
Great book - an absolute keeper.......2007-04-08
This story line is the best I have read for some time, both books to date will be keepers. There was lots of plot, great characters and heaps of room for the series to continue. How great it is to find another author I can add to my "wish-list"!!
